Chapter 1
In the depths of the facility, hidden away from the world. Where many, horrific experiments are performed. I reside in.
My name is Felix, well my real name. I'm called "#1301864" by the doctors. I've been stuck here for as long as I can remember. This is where my story begins.I awaken in the room again. The sound of the generator starting up always is so loud. I sit up and look around, I've always shared a room with all the 'patients' here. Speaking of the patients, they all have been here all their life too. I don't get to interact with most of them, due to how horrific they look due to some of the experiments done on them.
I stand up, and go over to my little sisters bed. "Ashley" I say, shaking her gently. She stretches and looks up at me, she smiles and grabs for her teddy. She waved its paw, I chuckle and ruffle her long curly hair. "Felix, what time is it?" She groans, flipping over to her stomach and covering herself with her blanket tiredly. I look up at the clock, it reads "7:03". "Half past kissing time, time to kiss again!" I laugh and give her a playful kiss on her head. She giggles and wipes her forehead.
"I'm hungry.." she groans, getting up from her bed. I take her hand and I try to open the door, "it's locked Ashley, we'll have to wait." I respond, giving her a sick-of-this-shit look. She walks back to her bed and sits down. "Felix, why do they keep us here? I wanna see the world!" She raised her voice a little, and pouts. I sigh, "Ashley, you ask that all the time. I don't know." I respond, a little annoyed. I want to change the subject, "hey, Ashley, how about we play checkers?" The girl gasps, "didn't you steal that?" She whispers. "Yes, but do they expect us to just be bored all day, we're locked in here!" I say, pulling out the board game from under my bed.
After we played, the door opened, I quickly tried to hide the game back. But the prices clattered against the cardboard loudly. A doctor came in, she seemed to notice the game. But didn't say anything, "everyone, come out for breakfast now." She says, leaving the room. A few other kids get up and walk out the room. "Felix..I don't want to go out there. Remember what happened last time?" Yes, we had been getting our breakfast and bringing it back in our room, instead of eating out in the cafeteria. Because of an incident. I don't want to talk about it.. "come on, we have to!" I say, holding her hand and walking out of the room with her.
Out in the cafeteria, all of the children sit down. A doctor comes in with a cart of the trays that have our breakfast. There's about 15 kids here at the facility. The room is brick with wooden tables and chairs lined up. A few more doctors come in and put out the breakfast for us. It's oatmeal with a banana and a choice of water, milk, or orange juice. Ashley chooses the milk. And I choose the water. I begin to eat when the head doctor comes in, he walks around and looks at everyone. I never liked him, he always was rude towards me and my sister.
"Good morning children, how are we this morning?" He asks, putting his hands behind his back. A few kids say ok, some don't speak at all. The doctor pulls out a clipboard, he stared at it for a brief moment, then clears his throat. "Number 3042135, please follow me." My sister, I really wanted to say no to him. But I didn't really have a choice, Ashley got up and fidgeted with her fingers for a few seconds. Then followed the doctor, I felt nervous, what was going to happen to her? I thought about that everyday when each patient was called each day for their experiment.
Ashley had followed the doctor to a small white room, she sat down on the bed. And the doctor sat down on the chair next to her. A level of uncertainty washed over her, she didn't know what experiment the doctor was going to do this time. The doctor has been doing small experiments these past few days. Getting her ready for the bigger experiment, which she didn't know when it would be. "Well, the experiments that we've done these past few days have been successful. I believe you're ready for a bigger experiment I've been planning." The doctor explained. Ashley felt a sense of worry surround her, confused questions and thoughts flooded her head. What kind of experiment? The last big experiment went wrong, she had been infected by a non sterile needle during that one. What if something bad happens this time?
Ashley looked down and shaked, she was about to cry. She was extremely worried, from what had happened in this horrific place. Something terrible ought to happen.
"No!" Ashley demanded, standing up now. The doctor gave her a sinister look. "Fine, but there will be consequences." He said. Unlocking the door and letting her out the room. Ashley came walking out. She sat down back next to me, and began to cry. "I don't want to be here anymore Felix!" She cried, "shh..they might hear you." I warned her. Holding her close. I held her shoulders comforting, "how about you eat your breakfast and then we do something fun? Okay?" I ask her. Ashley nods her head as she begins to eat her breakfast.
A little while later, around 9 o'clock. Me and Ashley go to the book room. She has read most of the books, but something's the facility gets new ones. She picks out some picture book. I pick out "tales of a fourth grade nothing" I've read it a few times, it's a good book. I take Ashley's hand and lead her back to our room. "What happened today with Dr. Sean?" I never liked saying his name. It made a chill run down my spine. Ashley froze, and put her hand on her forehead. "He said he was going to do a bigger experiment on me. It probably would've been..." she began to cry and hugged me. "Wha- what did you say?" I asked her, petting her head.
Ashley felt a sense of worry overwhelm her. "I-I said no!" She stuttered, realizing now what might happen. "Ashley..do you know what this means?" I ask her, getting a little frustrated over the whole situation. Ashley sobbed harder, snot ran down her nose and tears gushed out her eyes rapidly.
"He's going to do it on me."
