My mother used to tell me that yesterday was a day that you couldn't get back. It was a simple phrase that held so much depth once she passed away six months ago. Ever since then Dad has been trying to find ways to keep himself busy with pack business. Alpha Roy-my grandfather, tried to help us in every way we could, but quite frankly, he always failed.
As I sit here on this cliff, bracing myself for the departure of myself and destiny, I feel light-headed. I start to smell a masculine scent that I don't recognize, making me nervous on instinct. I feel as if someone is watching me, anticipating my every move. I stand up, finally ready to jump until my thoughts were rudely interrupted.
"What are you doing," Kota asked. I stood as still as possible to avoid falling off the edge.
I blinked a couple times before stuttering, "I was- I was talking to the Moon Goddess." I congratulated myself for coming up with a good enough excuse.
"It's dangerous out here, Arian."
I moved away from the cliff swiftly, still staring at the woods ahead of me. "You act like I don't know that, Kota. I'm not a baby, I can handle myself."
He laughed, mocking me smoothly. "Handle yourself? You can barely tie your shoes by yourself!"
"Kota, the only reason I don't decide to tie my shoes is because I have people like you to do it for me," I stated. We both chuckle before this awkward silence settles in. "What are you doing here anyway?"
"Your dad sent me here to get you."
Once he says this, my mind is racing a mile a minute. My dad and I haven't had a full conversation since Mom died. So the fact that he summoned me, is quite scary.
Kota and I make our way down the trail and towards the main road that leads to the pack house. Our parents have been friends for over twelve years which means that we have that awkward kind of relationship. Basically our parents thought we would be mates, but it turns out that when Kota turned sixteen, that wasn't the case. It crushed all of our parent's hearts. But I found that I wasn't that upset. He was two years older than me and very sweet. Kota was handsome with a tall and masculine frame but, when I look into his eyes, I don't see everything I need.
In the house, Dad awaits me in his signature swirly chair that I used to sit in years ago. His facials are somewhat intimidating but, I continue to hold my ground.
"Good evening," he exclaims loudly.
"I've been aware that you've summoned me," I state simply. "What can I do for you?"
"I just wanted you to know that I'm going to be gone for the weekend on a business meeting." He smiles, but it doesn't quite meet his eyes.
"That's all that you wanted," I asked, slightly irritated.
"Yes, that's all I wanted, Arian." he briefly stated, before getting back to his work. I walked out, extremely aggravated. Why couldn't he see that I was hurting? I needed a parent; not a leader. It was hard for me to cope with the way my mother died. And without the comfort of a mate, it's been hard to have motivation for my life.
My phone rings abruptly as I walk to my room, making me even more frustrated. I still answer anyway, knowing that she'll be mad if I don't answer her call.
"Hello?"
"Hey," Caitlin answers excitedly. "What did the blanket say when it fell off the bed?"
I smile at her attempt to cheer me up. Finally reaching my room, I flop onto my bed while responding to her question. "I have no clue."
"Oh sheet!" She chuckles on the other line and I laugh at her optimism. "But seriously," she continues, "how are you?"
"I'm fine," I lie. "When are you coming back?"
"I know you're lying, but I don't know. I believe this Friday."
I quietly sigh, before explaining to her that I would explain everything to her when she got back. Although Caitlin has been banned from the pack for a week, she's still my only friend. The girl deserved Caitlin's raft. But fighting isn't permitted here. So Alpha Roy sent the girls away to somewhere no one knows.
"I'll call you tomorrow, C." She repremands me about not calling her last time and makes me swear on a star before hanging up. After hanging up, I'm left with my thoughts. My eyes feel heavy and I start to drift off lazily.

His eyes were unidentifiable. Almost like he wasn't real. His iris was blue, green, and brown all at the same time. His skin looked so smooth from afar and the way he glistened astonished me. His hair was slicked back but, waves were still visible. I couldn't fathom that he was standing so unbelievebaly close to me. The scent that radiated from him was so magnificent that I stepped closer involuntarily. His arms wound their way around my back, holding me against him firmly. I was drowned in his scent quickly and it made my hormones run wild. My hand snaked its way up to the nape of his neck, gingerly smoothing the hair I found there. Chest rumbling against mine, he growled deeply. My eyes happened to avert to his lips and then our lips...
I woke up at precisely at 4 am. I was sitting downstairs eating frozen grapes that I had from a couple days ago. For some reason, I felt the strange need to go outside. So, I got up quietly and exited swiftly through the back door. It was a relief really. To be able to smell and feel the air flowing through my body. I ran directly to the forest, staying in my human form. I rested after I got far enough from the house. But, just as I was about to return I heard a noise. At first I believed that my ears weren't reliable because I had just woken up. But that wasn't the case. The sound had come from the rogue that was now standing in front of me. I thought I would be able to take him until at least eight more revealed themselves.
My instict was to outrun them but before I could even move, there was a hand around my throat. I was suffocating severely from his grip. My pack had never used violence as a strategy, so I possessed no counter action. Losing air quickly, I started seeing dots flashing in my vision. I barely caught my last breath as I lost conciousness.
