[Author's note: heyyyy guys :) got some angst for you 💋]
You tossed and turned in the large bed, unable to sleep. You were so tired, but for some reason your body wouldn't let you rest. You took a minute to glance at your wife through the dim light. Her eyes were shut and her chest slowly rose and fell. She was beautiful. Like a perfectly carved statue of a goddess.
You gave Alcina a small kiss on her cheek and snuck off the bed, walking towards the door and out the hall. Maybe some water would help you sleep.
You turned the corner and walked down the stairs. You stopped dead in your tracks when you heard the shuffling of feet. You figured it was one of your daughters trying to scare you. "Bela? Daniela? Cassandra? Is that one of you?" You asked, looking around the dark room. Nothing.
The hair on the back of your neck raised and your heart began to race. You sighed and continued your journey to the kitchen.
You opened the door and turned the lights on, squinting at the sudden brightness. You took out a glass from the cupboard and filled it from the faucet. Maybe your exhaustion is making you hear things.
You drank the last two sips of water and placed it back in the sink. Just as you were about to clean it you felt something cold and metal press against your back.
"Where's my daughter?" a low male voice asked. You froze, feeling your heart beat in your chest. "I-I don't know" you stammered.
He pressed the weapon harder into your back. "Rosemary Winters. I know that you know where she is. Take me to her or I'll shoot" he growled.
The name sounded familiar. You've heard Alcina talk about her on the phone with Mother Miranda. You assumes it was just business and decided not to pry.
"S-sir. I don't know. I haven't seen anyone other than my wife, daughters, and the maids in this house. Please don't kill me" you told him, tears rolling down your cheeks.
He growled and hit you in the back of your head with the butt of his pistol. You yiped at the hit and fell to the floor. He approached you while aiming his gun. You now saw his face.
His eyebrows furrowed and he walked closer to you. You backed up against the wall and trembled. "Please! I can't die. Please don't kill me. I don't know where she is. Please s-stop!" You sobbed.
He slowly lowered his gun. You could tell he was in the middle of thinking. You took that moment and lunged at him, grabbing his gun away from him. He struggled and threw you off of him.
"Fuck!" He snarled, pulling out his knife. You shot his leg, making him fall to the ground. You approached him, breathing heavily. Anger tore through your fear. How DARE he set foot into this castle and put your family in danger?
Just as you prepared to shoot his head, he stabbed you in the shin. You screamed in pain and dropped the pistol.
ALCINA'S POV:
I woke up to the sound of a gunshot going off. Panicked, I turned to the side of my bed. She wasn't there. (Y/n) wasn't there.
My heart raced and I jumped off the bed and ran down the stairs, forgetting my slippers. I sprinted towards the noise from the kitchen.
Just as I put my hand on the doorknob I heard a blood curdling scream. I bashed it open to find a man on the ground, and (y/n) struggling to stand.
He raised the pistol at her. I wasted no time to raise my claws and slice him open, but I was too late. Time seemed to move in slow motion. He shot at her, hitting her in the stomach.
She froze, mouth agape. She looked down at her stomach and then back at me. She tried to talk but couldn't make out a word. She then collapsed, holding her wound.
"YOU WRETCHED MAN THING" I screamed, slashing his throat. He choked on his own blood. I kept slashing him, over and over again. My daughters rushed into the room.
Cassandra ran over to me and held my arm. "Mother! What happened?" She asked frantically. Bela's eyes landed on (y/n's) limp body. She and Daniella ran over, shaking her and trying to make her wake up.
I sobbed into my hands. "NO" I yelled, falling to my knees. "WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN"
I finally pulled myself together and turned to Cassandra. "Call Mother Miranda NOW." You ordered. She wasted no time disappearing into a cloud of flies and zooming out the door.
I ran over to (y/n) and held her close to me. I pressed my large hand on her stomach in an attempt to stop the bleeding. My tears dripped onto her unconscious body. I held her close and cried. "Please, sweet girl. Don't leave me. I can't do it without you" you choked out.
(Y/N)'S pov or whatever. Isn't it like third person or sm?? Idk. Back to what we started with):
You slowly opened your eyes and tried to sit up. You let out a yelp and fell back down. The fiery pain in your stomach shot through your entire body. Moving made the pain so much worse.
You looked around and noticed you sat in a room you've never been in before. Nobody was here.
You examined yourself and noticed a thick layer of bandages wrapped around your waist. An IV was placed in your arm.
The door creaked open and you spotted the face of your beautiful wife. She seemed to not notice you were awake. Her eyes were red and puffy, and bags formed under them. She looks like she hasn't slept in days.
She walked over to a chair next to your bed and grabbed your hand, caressing it with her thumb. With all the strength in your body, you squeezed her hand weakly. You felt her tense up.
"Draga?" She quaked, looking at you with a shocked expression. You smiled weakly at her. She imeadietly began to cry, holding your hand tight.
"I'm so sorry this happened. You out of all people don't deserve this!" She cried, repeatedly kissing your hand. You reached up and caressed her face. "It's not your fault" you rasped. Your throat was very dry and it hurt badly to talk.
More tears fell down her face as she rested her head against your hand. She went silent. "I must tell you something though" she hesitated, holding your hand tight. "You did end up dying on the way here.." she whispered. Her eyes weren't their usual golden yellow. They were a deep grey.
Your eyes widened and your eyebrows furrowed. "Mother Miranda saved you but.. the only way to save you.." she took a deep breath in and looked you in the eyes. "Was to inject the cadou into you".
You sat up imeadietly, ignoring the pain in your stomach. "W-what!?!?" You panicked. The pain finally hit you like a tidal wave. You let out a loud groan and fell down again. Alcina quickly got up and soothed you, stroking your arm.
"Don't get up so fast, darling" She cooed sweetly, kissing your forehead. "If she didn't, you would've been gone" she frowned.
You took a deep breath. The thought of the cadou always scared you. You've seen how it affected people. When Alcina mentioned it to you a while back, you where very wary. You didn't want to end up like Moreau, but she would always assure you that she would love you, nomatter what you looked like.
"D-do I look different?" You asked, reaching up to feel your face. She shook her head no. "Only your eyes, my dear. They're yellow like mine" she whispered, kissing your forehead.
You were relieved there were no drastic changes. "W-what about that man?" You asked her. She giggled a bit "our daughters I made sure that the wretch was put out of his misery, I assure you" she answered.
You let out a sigh of relief. She patted your head and sat up. "Rest now, my dear. You need it. Then we can talk some more." She told you, a grin appearing on her tear stained face.
You nodded and smiled back. "I love you Alcina" you called out. "I love you too, draga mea. Forever and always"
