I'm very powerful. Everyone knows and fears me. Only because I know how to get shit done. I am Octavia Anderson, and I rule the Italian Mafia.

My father recently died to cancer, don't get me wrong, I miss him, but sometimes I have to be as heartless as I seem. Therefore, I have to show no emotion. If you show emotion in my world, you're weak and pathetic. Unfortunately you won't make it very far here. As a Mafia queen, you get a lot of doubt and underestimating, but I have proven that I am not a weak little girl. That's the reason I am still alive today.

I've never had time for love. In fact, I don't even believe in love. It's just a stupi-

"BOSS! You might wanna get down here!"

Ugh. I walk down the stairs, not even looking up. "Dre, what is so urgent it's 9 o'clock."Hello, O." Something about that voice - "It's been a while." I knew exactly who this is."Ah, if it isn't good, old derick." "Hey sis. Give me a hug, would ya?"

Derrick Anderson. My brother, he chose to stay out of the Mafia life. I don't blame him. He's 23 years old and two years younger than me.

"Hey brother. What brings you home, eh?" I hug him tightly. We haven't spoken for two and a half years. "Oh ya know, just missin' my sister."

I know a lie when I hear one, "Ha! You forget I do business with drug lords. I know when people are lying to me." I gave him my bis sister look saying you better tell the truth before I squeeze it outta you. "O, I-uh i-um-uh I'm eng-" "Spit it out D!" This time, I had a forceful tone in my voice. I'm very impatient. "I'm engaged."

I was stuned. I had so many questions. Who? When? Why? How? And yet the only thing I could spit out was "OK, cool"

Dumbest thing I could've said, "COOL?! ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW O? I tell you the most important news ever and all you can say is cool?! I see how it is." Before I could say anything else, he walked away.

Eh, whatever it is, what it is. He'll come around eventually

"Dre, I'm going to bed this time. Don't interrupt me!" "Yes, Boss, "

Andre Collin, my right-hand man. He's my top guard.  It's the only one I trust.

The next day...

I walked out into the kitchen and grabbed some of the breakfast the cooks whipped up. When I go to sit down, I see Derrick sitting at the opposite end waiting for me.

"Buongiorno," I said, trying to keep the peace of the quiet morning. He gave me quite the reply I was expecting. "I wish i could say the same, but it's not a good norning for me."

I saw that coming from a mile away.

"Aw, did you have a nightmare? I'm sorry." Ugh, i hate those words. "Sorry" it's gets said so much I can't believe it from anyone.

"I'm happy for you, but when am I gonna meet her?" I did truly want to meet her, at least know her name so I could so a quick background check.

"Soon. But no background checks. I already did one of my own." He smiled, and I simply nodded, keeping my grin hidden.

"I gotta job in a couple hours, so I'll be gone a while. I hope you don't mind?" I said it more like a question, and he nodded, knowing someone's gotta do the work. "She Flys in later today, so you can meet her tomorrow."Perfetto."

When I go to get ready, Dre tells me all about the business, " his name is Mark Delawhich, international drug lord. He says he wants to buy your club." I stop dead in my tracks.

"Not happening, end of story." Anything but the club. The club belonged to my father. But he fought tooth and nail for it, I'm not giving it,up that easy.
