Something New

Chapter 5

he reached his hands around to my back and scratched it.
"oh thank you I've had a scratch there all day!" I said in a relieving tone. i put my shirt back on and continued to pack. my phone started to ring and I didn't realize who it was at first and it was my sisters husband, Brad. I got so excited cause my sisters husband never calls me unless baby Luke is coming!!!
"hellooooo???" I asked in a singing tone.
"get everyone to the Memorial Hospital now! Tia is having Luke!" I didn't even say anything to Brad, I hung up ran down stairs and told everyone and Aaron got confused so quickly.
"hanna, what the heck is going on?" he's asked.
"I'll explain in the car. let's go! we gotta go!" I shouted excitedly. I ran to my car so I could get there faster and my parents drove their car. I drove the newer model of the Range Rovers and my parents drove a Rolls Royce. i tried to keep the speed limit in time but I was so focused on my new and first nephew Luke.
I arrived at the hospital and pulled into a parking spot.
"Hanna, you still have yet to tell me." I forgot to tell Aaron that Tia is having a baby.
"my sister is having a baby!!!!" I squealed. I ran up to my sisters room because Brad texted me her room number. I opened the door and all the Doctors are in there already, wow she is about to have that baby fast?
"excuse me miss, immediate family only." he stated.
"I am immediate family. I'm her sister." I said in a nasty tone. Aaron went out in the waiting room to sit down and wait until the baby came.
I was in there for about 30 minutes and still nothing. so I went out to sit with Aaron. it was about 10:30 and it has been a long day. I sat next to Aaron and laid my head on his shoulder. he grabbed my hand and kissed the top of my head.
"Hanna, I love you." he softly said. I didn't know what to say. I kinda sat there in silence. I had no idea what to say, he said it so early in our relationship and I didn't know how to take it, so I acted like I was sleeping. I felt bad because I didn't say anything back. I do love him but l feel like he said it a little too early.
"Hanna, Luke is here." I hear one of my brothers say. I stood up from Aaron and grabbed his hand and we went into my sisters room. the little baby laying in my sister arms and tears in her eyes made me tear up.
"can I hold him?" I asked Tia. she shook her head in a yes motion and I cradled baby Luke in my arms. Aaron looked over my shoulder to see him.
"he is so cute." I felt Aaron lay his chin on my shoulder and wrap his arms around my waist. it almost felt like we were a family.
I gave Luke back to Brad. Luke is such a blessing to our family, of course to my sister, but also to me. I've needed something good to happen besides Aaron. and two of my favorite people have came into my life. I couldn't be any happier.
"Hanna, maybe we should get home and get to sleep. we move tomorrow and we have to get some rest." Aaron grabbed my hand and we went out to the car. the humid muggy air of Indiana during the summer nights hit our faces. I could immediately feel my face getting sticky and my hair getting frizzy. we made it to my car and Aaron grabbed the keys out of my hand.
"I'll drive us home." he said sternly. I wasn't sure why he was acting like this. we got in the car and he started it. he backed out of the parking spot. I look over at him and study his face. he was so concentrated on the road he didn't say anything to me. or maybe because I didn't say 'I love you' back to him? I don't know. I looked forward to the road and realized we weren't going the way to my house.
"Aaron, where are you going babe?" I asked concerned.
"you'll see." he didn't even look over at me and smile or anything. he said it so bluntly that I was starting to get worried.
we pulled into this grassy area in the middle of no where, no lights were on except my car head lights. Aaron and I were the only ones. Aaron got out of the car.
"Hanna stay in here until I tell you." his words were almost frightening. I laid my seat back because I was getting extremely exhausted. about 5 minutes later I hear my car door open. Aaron grabbed my hand and led me to this area where Aaron had laid a blanket down and surrounded it with candles.
"Babe, what is this?" I asked.
"since we didn't have a proper date we are having one now." I am actually very confused.
"is that why you were so concentrated in the road?" I asked.
"yes and no." he said. i was just going to leave it at that. I sat down on the blanket and looked up at the stars. they were so beautiful I've never seen so many stars out in one night. I really needed this. with all of the stress that has been going on with me lately, I needed this badly.
"Hanna... what's it like to lose someone you love?" he questioned.
"well. it's like your world crashes. everything you thought you had is now gone. when I lost Cole I honestly didn't know if I was going to see the time of day. I was so depressed and paranoid about everything for two months straight. I wouldn't come out of my room, I would barely eat and I barely ever saw my family. my mom would come in and I would completely shun her. I cried every night for 2 months straight. I thought I was dying because the love of my life was gone. I am/was so heartbroken I couldn't stand I had to crawl to go to the bathroom. It was horrible. so if you wanna know how bad it is to lose someone you love tremendously, then that is what it feels like." I couldn't help but not year up. Aaron hugged me.
"I don't wanna lose you if that is going to happen. because Hanna I love you already and I'm pretty sure you love me. I know it is to early but you are the best thing that ever happened to me." I still did not know what to say so I said,
"I love you too Aaron. I'm so glad I have you in my life. thank you for everything." I smiled. Aaron planted a kiss on my lips. it seems like I've known him forever. this is the best I've felt with someone in a long time. I mean I loved and still love Cole but there is something about Aaron that I absolutely love.
