it's come to my attention that someone could mistake this as romance. let me tell you now, it's not. this is a story about a girl, her trauma, and her humanity. love is thrown into the mix, sure, but love isn't always patient, love isn't always kind. love can be a killer, love can be pain. aria and vincent are a case study, an outlet for me to try and express the realness, the rawness, of a relationship i, personally, had, though this is, obviously, a more dramatized retelling. since the story is told from aria's perspective, things can be warped and romanticized, but, please, do be careful with how you absorb it, or how you go about commenting about it. toxic, dependent, abusive relationships in any form can deeply affect someone, and i don't just mean romantic relationships. aria's story is an important one, an important one to me. so, maybe, if you really want romance, think of this as a romance aria is having with herself, with life. i hope you learn to love her as much as i do.
PLEASE NOTE: throughout the story there will be mentions of ABUSE (mental, emotional, and physical), SUICIDAL THOUGHTS (and sometimes actions), VIOLENCE/VIOLENT IMAGERY (including but not limited to: gun violence, knives, and physical violence), BLOOD AND GORE, and ROUGH SEXUAL ACTIVITY/ROUGH SEXUAL IMAGERY.
be cautioned and, please, take care of yourself and stay away from this story if any of that will bother you. i understand they're not easy topics to swallow.
if you stay, thank you for reading, and i hope you enjoy.
