[NAME] LOOKED ACROSS THE CLIFF, SURVEYING THE LOWER GROUND. She awaited her partner for the mission and they were running quite late.

"You're late, you know that?" She spoke, surprising the other person.

"You have sharp senses." Was all he said.

Silence lingered in the air as they walked, making their way to the town. They found people running about, completing jobs they might have to do. Children were playing across the roadside, having not a care in the world. They ventured deeper into the small town, silence lingering between them. Not a word was said.

Upon reaching the center of the small town, they noticed that the sun was beginning to set. That meant that the demon had time to roam about, which would be perfect for them. They waited out at a nearby shop, keeping an eye on any out of normal activity. The streets cleared rather quickly, in fear that they would be the next victim to an attack.

"Where shall we start?" [name] asked her partner.

He stared at her for a bit, eyes clouding with emotion, one that [name] couldn't distinguish. After a few seconds, he opened his mouth to answer, but an ear piercing cry cut the silence. They immediately whipped their head to the direction in which they heard the scream and quickly ran to the scene.

It was a house at the edge of the village, one hiding behind a few trees. The shrubbery around it hid the area perfectly, a bit too perfect for the demons to attack. The door of the house was completely taken off its hinges and was discarded onto the ground. They shared a look, hoping to help as soon as they could.

They both entered the house, mentally apologizing for coming in unannounced. It was silent for a second until another scream rang, followed by the sound of glass shattering and banging on the walls. They navigated through the small home, half way deciding that they would be faster if they split up. She went right, almost falling into a hole in the floorboards. The vital red liquid needed for the body was spilt all over the floors, soaking into the wood. The further she went into the house, the more putrid the smell became.

Any untrained person would gag at how strong the smell was. And any untrained person would most definitely throw up at the sight before her.

First she spotted the leg poking out from under the table. Her eyes narrowed in suspicion at the unmoving limb, especially after spotting the splatters of blood on the walls. She inched forward to take a closer look and almost, almost, wished she didn't. Not only was this body missing an arm and a leg, but it was missing a head too.

The only part of the body left behind was the shoulder and down, not even the neck was intact, (not that it would change anything). The arm seemed to have been ripped off right above the elbow, leaving the bone exposed right in the open. The stomach was slit open, all the insides now on the out. Now the leg seemed to have been bitten off, because it was in quite an odd shape. All in all, it was an absolute sad and disgusting sight.

She took a step back, taking in a deep breath and continued her cautious walk around the how. It was sad to see the small toys in the little corners of the house. The poor child, if they were here, would most likely be dead or perhaps very traumatised. Things like these can fuck with your head, [name] would know.

She sensed movement from behind her and immediately took action. She pulled out her blade and blocked the attack that was about to meet her. The ugly creature laughed before swiping another hand. She ducked before slashing the arm off. The demon frowned and giggled angrily, which in [name]'s opinion was really fucking creepy.

She moved back ready to perform a technique when her eyes widen at the child that the creature was holding on it's back. She cursed under breath. The demon, which must have seen her eyes widening, cackled loudly. [name] was sure that it echoed throughout the house, which could tell Tomioka where she is. The demon launched itself at her, a big devilish grin on it's face. It swiped it's sharp claws and she dodged every single one of its moves.

She jumped and kicked it in the 'jaw', or whatever part of its body that was. It didn't look human and she could only assume. The demon was launched back and she moved forward to make sure it didn't land on the child. Which was a horrible move might I add. The demon sensed her and pulled her by the wrist, throwing her into a wall. She gasped quietly as her back made contact with the surprisingly strong wall. She was immediately attacked, but her defense was higher than the creature anticipated. She sliced off both it's arms and pushed it back. She readied her technique and moved forward with determination.

[name]'s blade swung for the head, but was diminished as she was tugged back by a derranged arm holding tightly onto her torso. The creature yanked her back, dropping her katanna, and smashed her to the floor.

She grit her teeth in frustration, having never been bested so easily by a weak creature. A blur weaved beside her and the demon was immediately struck in the neck, but Tomioka was not successful in ending it's life. The katana went half way through it's neck before the creature disappeared.

[name] got up, ready to chase after the demon. What she learned from watching in the last few seconds is that the child she saw earlier was nothing, but a meal being saved. The child wasn't alive, just a corpse clinging to the creatures body. It disgusted her. She would be the one to kill it, and she will do it painfully.
