'total slut'
'what a whore'
'didn't know she had it in her'
'...'
And here she thought, she'd gulp down a few drinks to shrug off the heartless comments from her mind. It didn't work, if anything it only worsened her situation.
'total slut'
It kept ringing in her head, reminding her of the honest mistake she's made. She tried to sleep it off, a little break, a mockery of a last attempt to forget her mysery, it would be pretense, just for a little while.
She tried, nonetheless.
'what a whore'
She couldn't, though. She was usually a fast sleeper, a heavy one. But Karma knew best when to take her shot at screwing with one's life. At their lowest, of course.
'Why would it let her have the luxury of an escape from a mistake she committed herself, fully conscious no less?' It mocked. 'She needed to face the punishement!'
She then planned a last resort. A last chance, to save herself from all that's worse.
'Maybe they're right, maybe I'm just a waste of fresh air... No. Not maybe. She was sure. She was determined.'
Ending her life, seems perfect of a plan, she pondered in her head. Not only will she be relieved, but everyone else will too. She was nothing but a burden.
'didn't know she had it in her'
The pills, suddenly, looked sacred in her hands. They were a way to eternal peace.
The overdose she took, knowing it'll take her life away, didn't seem as repulsive anymore as it used to. She understood.
Her energy was draining, her soul elevating. And ahead, was opening up a way to eternal silence. So she didn't fight the distinctive instinct of survival. She didn't entertain the foolish thought for more than a fleeting moment of weakness.
Lying down on the tiled floor of her bathroom was relaxing, she could see the metaphorical light, a hope for a better life, though it wouldn't be one on earth.
Stacey.
Distant memories shared between the two girls flashed to her mind.
Stacey will no longer have to worry about her slut of a friend.
'Really, it's for the best.'
A relieved smile was sat on her face when she finally left all cruelty behind.
