"Look I've told you Mrs Haskell, unless you have evidence there's no case" said George Childs, trying not to shout.
"But I saw him!" the woman opposite him said.
"I know, but if no one else did that's not evidence!"
As I've said multiple times now! He continued in his head.

A few moments later the woman had left. She had been coming for the past month like clockwork asking to sue her husband for adultery. She had no evidence other than that she claimed to have seen him with another woman.
"Poppy, why do you still let her in?" He asked through the intercom.
"It's not a question of whether I let her in, it's a question of whether I can stop her before she walks in" replied his secretary's voice.
He had considered filing for a restraining order and come to the conclusion that this woman was clearly very upset about her husband. This meant that rational thoughts probably weren't on her mind right now. If he wanted to keep his reputation he had to put up with her, for now.
"Poppy has Mr Wilcox sent through the information for the Janings trial yet?"
"No and I've rang his office, his secretary says she's out"
"Well you tell the secretary if those files aren't on my desk in the next 15 minutes he can kiss a promotion goodbye"
He clicked off the intercom and fell back into his chair.
"So hard to get the staff these days" he said to no one in particular.
Then he opened up his laptop and continued to find information on his latest client.
