I'm running through the deep woods, hunters behind me. I'm one of the Inferno runaways. I was just walking through the marketplace when my cloak was torn down my shoulders, revealing my raven black wings.

I turned around to see who tore down my cloak, but they were long gone. At that time, all the royal guards knew I was one of "Inferno's children" like they call us.

Then I don't remember much because my mind instantly shifted to my only priority, run.

I turned around and sprinted out of the marketplace on the palace's battlement. I was breathing fast and running even faster, heading towards the woods we, Inferno runaways, live. The guards unfortunately didn't like that and followed me all the way to the deep woods.

"Get him!" I hear one of the royal guards yell to his comrades and they separate to several smaller groups. They're trying to encircle me. I don't have any other choice. I spread my wings and flap them a couple of times.

"Don't let him get away!" Another guard yells and then all I remember is dull pain on the back of my head and ropes tight around my wrists, ankles and wings.

I wake up on a cold stone floor, caged like an animal with muzzle on my face. "He's awake" I hear someone say in the distance and clacking of steel armor. Two guards step closer to my cell, looking at me with amusement. "Look at that thing, pathetic" I hear the first guards and the second one spits on my face.

"I'm not an animal" I growl, my voice muffled by the muzzle. The first guard smirks "Of course you are an animal. No, you're something even worse, you're a monster!" I was expecting that, their laughter cutting deep in my soul. They're right, I am a monster.

Hey, so this is my first English book so if there're any mistakes, I'm sure you can excuse it. This was just the pilot chapter of this book. I hope I'll finish this one and I hope you'll like it.
