Rain was being more frequent this week and I still had a broken umbrella. I didn't care about getting wet but Jeon was always at the parking lot every time I got out of my car.
"You forgot your umbrella again?", he asked opening his and sharing it with me as if it was a usual thing. It kind of did feel like it was becoming a thing... I hope I wasn't bothering.
"I broke mines and I haven't bought one."
He nodded and started walking. The droplets looked so beautiful on the umbrella, it looked like crystals. We arrived at the gaming rooms and people were already to play. Today was going to be a strategic game so I was going to pass playing games today.
"You're not playing?", Jeon asks as he grabs my arm before I get to leave.
"I'm not so good at these games."
"I can help you."
"Really?"Jeon put my name on his team.
"It'll be fun."I sat beside him and his teammates joined us.
"Oh hi. I'm Lee Miran," she said extending her hand for a shake.
"Park Jimin," I said softly shaking her hand. She was pretty and somehow made me feel intimidated.
"I'm Jung Hoseok. But you can call me J-Hope," the guy said with a wink.
"I'm Cha Eunwoo," the other guy said nervously. I nodded and stared at him. He was pretty and had the nicest eyes.
Jeon coughed and I looked away quickly. Well, that was embarrassing. The games started and I was feeling stressed. Everyone else was so good at this game, it made me feel like I was pulling them behind.
Jeon glanced at me and scoot himself towards me.
"Don't be so nervous... I trust you can do this," he whispered to me. I felt my cheeks go red. I started concentrating a bit more and felt relaxed that Jeon was next to me.
-
10 kills.Wow. I hadn't even gotten close to five kills before. I turned to Jeon excited to tell him but he was talking to Miran.
"I know I'm excellent," she said patting Jeon. He gave a laugh and pat her back.
I bit my lips and decided to go get myself a drink. Why was I feeling like this? It wasn't none of my business who he was talking to. I was about to walk back to my seat when I bumped into someone.
"Sorry."
"Jimin?"
Kim Namjoon. I forced a smile and tried to walk away.
"How have you been?", he asked grabbing my arm.
"I'm not in the mood to talk Joon."
"Are you still mad at me?"
That prick.
"No," I said taking his hand away from my arm.
"Then why are you ignoring me... aren't we friends."
Of course, that's all he saw me as.Me and Namjoon had been very close in high school and I had feelings for him. But Namjoon wasn't the idle boy to date as he always had a different girl with him every month.
Somehow he had obtained feeling for me too and one day he told me out of the blue. I wasn't ready for any of that. Relationships looked so complicated and I wasn't ready to commit. Especially with him.
Namjoon wasn't going to change for me and I knew it because the following week... he had himself another girl. That girl was my best friend and he knew that. I never talked to him again after that.
"Please. Just leave me alone," I said as he kept following me. It still hurt even after years.
Jeon grabbed my arms as I came up to him.
"It looks like you saw a ghost... are you alright?"
"So that's why you don't want to talk. You found yourself another man," Namjoon says with a chuckle. Everyone was looking at us.Not again. Please. Don't look here.
Jeon stepped up and gave Namjoon a slight push away.
"Don't start problems here. If he doesn't want to talk to you, it means to fuck off," Jeon said staring at him.
"Woah. My business with him doesn't have to do anything with you," Namjoon said pushing him back.
I sighed then I grabbed Namjoon's hand and dragged him away."So now you want to talk?!"
"I'm sorry."Sorry for what? I don't know but I didn't care. I just wanted him to go. Namjoon looked at me.
"Just go away."
There was a time when I would have urged him to stay. To explain why he did what he did. Now I didn't care... my feeling for him was a long time again and I had moved on."Just take care alright," he said patting my hair and walked away.
I felt dizzy and it was still raining. How much longer was it going to rain...
Suddenly it stopped. I looked up and saw the pretty butterflies.
"Are you alright?", Jeon asked. I nodded.
Oh, how I wanted to cry.
