Chapter 5
Acheros
I ran as the leaves whipped my body and rustled under my feet. I turned my head only to see the guy from earlier following me, and when I looked back forward I collided with something that threw me to the floor, and before I could react, the Asian guy shifted his weight over me and puts a knife to my throat. As I looked into his dark, deathly eyes, I felt the cold metal of the blade on my skin. I freaked out, my heart started beating at an accelerated pace. The guy started laughing. I'm glad he's amused by this, but I'm terrified of the fact that he could kill me at any moment. I notice a figure approaching us, when it gets closer I see that it is the girl from a while ago. When she got completely close, she hit the boy on the head.
"This was supposed to be serious, unless you consider this whole situation a joke", she said, and I could hear the irritation in her voice. He stopped laughing and slowly turned his head towards her.
"Who gave you the permission to hit me?", he growled at her, and I'm sure he's going to murder her.
"Me", she just smiled sweetly. And just when I expected him to hurt her, he just smiled and blushed.
"Well, if it's you, than it's okay," he answered her. Honestly, it makes me a little uncomfortable watching them stare at each other with idiotic grins on their faces.
"Okay... I'll leave you two alone," I said, but I regretted it as soon as the guy turned to me, and his face darkened again.
"I'm holding the knife a millimeter from your throat so I don't think it's possible," he said, and I somehow managed to push him away from me so that he fell face down on the ground. He slowly got up from the ground and approached me, he was unarmed but looked like he could strangle me with his bare hands.
"Would you be nice and get out of here?" I asked him with a sarcastic smile on my face. He turned his head to the side and gave an unlucky smile and I could see a tear slide down his cheek, then he turned his head back to me
"Do you think I haven't already tried?", he asked me while the anger in his eyes was slowly replaced by sadness and pain, and the girl came and gently took his hand.
"DO YOU THINK I HAVEN'T SPEND THREE WEEKS LOOKING FOR A WAY OUT? Do you think I haven't tried everything, EVERYTHING?!” His black eyes were a blur of tears now, and I realized that there was something between them, that he cares about her more than anything else. He turned around and left, leaving me and the girl alone. We stood in silence for a while until she turned to me.
"I'm Naomi by the way," she said, holding out her hand for a handshake.
"I'm Acheros but you can call me Eros," I told her as I shook her hand. She started walking the way the guy had gone and along the way she offered to show me this place.
"What is this place?", I asked her a bit confused.
"Forest, dumbass," she replied with a smile on her face.
"I see that, but why couldn't I run away?" I continued with my questions.
"There is some kind of electromagnetic wall around this place. And before you ask, we don't know how we got here, or why we're here," she said, anticipating my questions.
"How did you know I was going to ask that?", now I'm even more confused.
"Because I asked Oto the same questions when I arrived," she said, and I'm sure I saw her blush. "Is Oto the guy who wanted to kill me?", I asked her, and she just nodded her head in response.
"Why did he want to kill me", I am confused.
"That's the only way to get out of here," she said, and when she noticed my confused expression, she continued: "There will be six of us here, and we have to kill three in order to other three get out of here," she said.
"Okay... and when will the others come?", another question from me.
"Maybe they have already come, we just haven't found them," she answered me and suddenly stopped walking when she saw Oto running towards us.
,,They are here. All three", he said breathlessly.
"What?", Naomi is just as confused as I am. Oto came closer to Naomi and gently took her hand.
"They. They are. Here".
