From Big Brother To Little Cousin

Bye bye Hugh

He had lost track of time. He lifted his eyelids.
Monica: Good morning Violetta!
It seemed like an eternity had passed. Diana had even given civics lessons to their classmates.
Diana: So friends! This little doll is called Violetta!
She placed her on the desk.
Teacher: What a love of a little girl!
Diana: She is Hugh's little cousin! He is abroad with the family!
She showed the class how to feed babies. The female classmates spent time showering him with affection; the boys would hit on Diana.
Every Thursday he took her to class.
Time passed.
Then three months passed.
She was taken with the stroller home.
Michela: Baby doll! How I have missed you! Have fun with the babysitter!
Diana: I sent you videos and pictures! So cute in the classroom, at the park, at the center where I work and playing with the twins! A love!!!
She was taken into the house. Her parents were present.
Philip: So really Hugh was like that for five months?
Samantha: Oh my God, poor thing.
He saw them laughing.
Diana: But he wanted to! I heard the recordings!
Michela: Exactly!
Philip: Miss enough! Do you think I don't recognize my voice distorter?
It was finally being released!

Ugo came back.
Diana: Oh God.
She cried hugging him, they were chatting in his room.
Diana: I... I was so naive! I am so dismayed! I've been treating you like a child all this time!
Hugh: Don't worry.
He felt strange.

He suddenly fainted.

He lifted his eyelids. He was in the car seat.
Philip: Look what you have done Michela! My devices are not being used!
Samantha: Grounded in the room three weeks!
Diana: Oh God, poor Hugh.
The girl cried hugging him.
Philip: Son unfortunately you have abused the devices too much.
Diana: You will remain Violetta forever! It is irreversible!

She burst into tears, still unable to speak.

She finished reading the book. She heard footsteps and saw the twins grown up.

The twins ran out. The little girl hugged her.
Diana: I miss you too but now you are a little girl. Your folks will be back in the evening.

Diana: You were my best friend and I was stupid. Now go play baby, in the evening I'm seeing Alfredo.

Many years later.
Hugh no longer existed, he knew who she had been but she was a different person.
Only Diana had remained in his heart as a best friend for bringing her up with the remorse of not stopping it. In spite of the years of difference they heard from each other every day.
Diana had married Alfredo eventually.
She finished her makeup; she had been of age for a week. Violetta reached the front door of the house in her beautiful dress. The boyfriend had picked her up for the school dance.
