Daily scans of our virtual protection shield are the most irritable things to do as soon as you wake up, and almost every day there is a miscalculation or a wrong typed code. My arm starts to fall asleep and my frizzy hair adds to my discomfort. As I shift through lines of code and navigate intricate algorithms, I can't help but wonder if there is a more efficient way to safeguard our systems. The persistent miscalculations and typos only exacerbate my frustration, causing my patience to wear thin.
I've been thinking about Angelo, about that girl he's keeping hostage, and how I can always catch them staring at each other. I spoke to my dickhead twin but Giacomo as much as i respect him, he can be a real dick and never takes anything serious. I saw him once sneak up on her, and I never told anyone, since he saw me sneak out of work and didn't say shit. I smell something fishy, and it's either coming from the other room were the other workers stay and rot with their eyes glued to those desktops or something is up to no good.
I can think of myself as significant to our organization but not significant to my family. My soul is slowly being eaten away by people not listening to what I have to say, and my prophecies are starting to come true. My conversations with Iuliano about our brother were dismissed by him, who claimed that he was a good soul who fled for a new life when in reality he had created a future just as grim as ours. However, I knew he wouldn't kill her from the very moment her name started getting recognition in this house. No one dies unless they're important, and you can see that perfectly in TV shows.
A sudden buzz is heard in the speakers, and this time I didn't spill my coffee on anything. I take my legs down from my desk and fix my glasses. I snap out my thoughts and watch my screen become black, opening just one single window. A vortex.
