Hassen lifted up slowly and slipped out of his lovers grip. He grabbed his slides and put his socks on, walking out the room, yawning. He walked into his son's room, closing the door behind himself.
"Dooda" Hassen whispered shaking his son, Dj, out of his sleep.
"C'mon" He mumbles. Hassen picked Dj up, grabbing both of their bags out of his bottom drawer. He grabbed a hoodie, a pair of shorts, and some socks and put them on his son's bare feet.
"Papa?" Dj mumbled, rubbing his eyes.
"Shh." Nardo said lowly as he made his way to the front door of the apartment he shared with his baby father.
He grabbed all the stack of money out the bread box and unlocked the door and ran to the car, he didn't dare to look back, not even daring to close the door behind him he could care less what happened to the man in the apartment.
He buckled Dj in and got in the drivers seat pulling up his navigation.
"Damn. 5 and a half-hours." Hassen mumbled.

Charlotte, North Carolina 10:45am Same day
"Damn I needa job" Hassen mumbled bitting at his bottom lip, walking into the apple store. He had dropped his son off at the play place a few stores down so he could run some errands.
He needed a new phone, and decided he would just get Dj something also to keep him occupied until the tv's come in.
"Yoo, welcome to the apple store is there anything I could do to help?" The employee grumbled not bothering to look up from his phone.
"Um.." Hassen squinted.
"Darius? Do you have any black iPhone 14 plus's?" He finished.
Darius looked up, his bored expression turning into a lustful look towards Hassen, giving Hassen time to look at Darius.
He had his dreads into a ponytail but they were curly. 'Damn' Hassen bit at his lip once again.
"Follow me" Darius said, his mug off his face now replaced with a smile.
Hassen followed Darius as he took him over to their phone section, pulling out the exact phone he was looking for.
He decided on buying the iPhone, along with an iPad for his son.
"Hey, by the way," Hassen said taking the iPhone and iPad off the counter, him and Darius' hands touching as he did so.
"Are y'all hiring by chance?" He finished.
"I just moved down here and-" "Fasho ma. Come in Thursday?" Darius interrupted sliding Hassen his phone.
"Okay" Hassen blushes typing his instagram into the search bar, "Follow me back too." Darius joked, making Hassen giggle as he walked away.
'maybe moving here isn't actually that bad'.
- 2pm Same day
Hassen shut the car door, holding Dj in his hands and walking up to the mailbox of the house to get the key. "Papa where dada?" Dj questioned, as he watched Hassen put the code into the lock and open the door.
"Dada went away dooda, it's just us" He sighed.
He thought long and hard about his decision but he refused to let his child grow up in a toxic house-hold.
He walked into his house, it wasn't anything major but to him it was.
He bought his own house on his money that he worked hard for.
It was a two story. One bedroom downstairs and three more upstairs, a big kitchen and living room, along with a spacious backyard.
"Ooo!" Dj exclaimed, wiggling in Hassen's arms.
Hassen put his son down and started looking around the house. 'yeah I fuck wih' dis' Hassen smiled, he was especially in love with his room it was big and spacious even enough to have Dj in his room if he felt the need to.
"Papa! Wan stay!" Dj yelled happily running into Hassen's room.
"We are staying dooda." Hassen smiled picking his son up. For the first time since he had Dj, he felt genuinely happy that it was just him and Dj.
And he hoped it stayed that way...
