One morning, a surge of hyperactivity coursed through Park Areum's veins. Bursting with energy, she pondered where to channel her mischievous spirit. A mischievous idea formed in her mind. She grabbed a piece of chalk and began to draw peculiar shapes and silly figures on Lee Yeon Woo's desk, eager to see his reaction.

As Lee Yeon Woo entered the classroom, his eyes widened with disbelief. He stared at the strange drawings on his desk, a mix of annoyance and amusement flickering across his face. Suspecting who might be behind the mischief, he seized a piece of chalk and swiftly retaliated by decorating Areum's desk with his own whimsical sketches.

Their desks became battlegrounds for a chalk war, and the whole class quickly caught wind of the amusing spectacle. Students took sides, cheering and jeering as the chalk-filled skirmish escalated. Laughter filled the room as Areum and Yeon Woo continued to dirty each other's desks with mischievous strokes.

"Go, Areum! Show him who's boss!" exclaimed Soo Min, cheering on her friend.

"Don't let her win, Lee! Give it your all!" shouted Jae Young, supporting his longtime friend.

However, their mirthful contest abruptly came to a halt when their teacher entered the classroom. The students quickly dispersed, their faces flushed with a mix of excitement and trepidation. Areum and Yeon Woo exchanged mischievous glances, knowing that the chalk war was far from over. They eagerly awaited the recess, where they could resume their playful competition.

"Don't think it's over because the teacher came, I'm not giving up" whispered Lee Yeon Woo.

"As if I'm ready to give up! Let's continue this later" Areum whispered back with a competitive look on her face.

"YAH YOU BOTH FLIBBERTIGIBBETS! THE TEACHER IS ALREADY TEACHING! WILL YOU BOTH STOP?!" Cha Yeon Woo whisper-yelled. They both muttered a short sorry and waited for recess.

As the recess bell rang, the class erupted into a frenzy of anticipation. Areum and Yeon Woo were ready to unleash their creative chaos once again. Students gathered around, eagerly taking sides and cheering for their favorite contenders. It was an all-out battle of chalk and wit, with the classroom transformed into a lively arena.

"Come on, Areum! Show Yeon Woo who's the real champion!" encouraged Min Joon, a fellow classmate.

"Yeon Woo, you got this! Let your creativity shine!" cheered Eunho, another friend.

Amidst the cheers and laughter, Areum and Yeon Woo exchanged playful banter.

Areum grinned mischievously. "You won't be able to outdo my artistic genius, Lee!"

Yeon Woo smirked, his eyes gleaming with playful defiance. "We'll see about that, Areum. Prepare to be amazed!"

Their chalk-dusted competition continued to escalate, and the classroom transformed into an arena of joyous chaos. Areum and Yeon Woo reveled in the thrilling battle, feeling a sense of freedom they had never experienced before.

Amidst the laughter and excitement, Sara, a great friend of Areum, entered the classroom, perplexed by the uproar. Elijah, a classmate, rushed to her side to explain the source of the commotion.

"Sara, you won't believe what's happening! Areum and Yeon Woo are having a chalk war. It's like a battle of creativity and mischief!" Elijah exclaimed, his voice filled with enthusiasm.

Sara's eyes widened as she took in the chaotic scene. With a mixture of concern and amusement, she decided to intervene. Making her way to the front of the room, she called for attention.

"STOP! Enough is enough! The recess is almost over, and the teacher will be back soon. Do you both want to get scolded?" Sara proclaimed, her voice echoing through the classroom. She paused, then added with a mischievous smirk, "Although you may continue in the next recess. I'm rooting for Areum!"

Areum and Yeon Woo exchanged surprised glances, their eyes filled with a mix of excitement and anticipation. Sara's unexpected intervention had momentarily halted their chalk war, but they couldn't deny the thrill that coursed through their veins.

When the recess came to an end, they reluctantly set aside their chalk weapons, their hearts filled with anticipation for the next round.

"We'll settle this in the next recess!" Areum declared with a grin.

Yeon Woo nodded, a sparkle in his eyes. "Prepare for another round, Areum. This is far from over!"

Their hearts danced with a newfound joy, their shared secret mischievousness forging a bond that defied the constraints of their ordinary student lives.

As the bell rang, signaling the start of the next recess, the students eagerly rushed outside, their excitement palpable. Areum and Yeon Woo locked eyes, their mischievous smiles widening.

"Let the World War 3 begin!" Areum exclaimed, her voice filled with playful determination.

Yeon Woo chuckled, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Get ready to be defeated, Areum. I won't hold back!"

They dove back into their chalk war, the students surrounding them with cheers and applause. It was a battle fueled by laughter and creativity, a testament to their unyielding friendship.

As the recess came to a close, Areum and Yeon Woo reluctantly set aside their chalk and exchanged a knowing glance. The World War battles had become a cherished part of their shared memories, an emblem of their lighthearted friendship.

In the grand tapestry of their lives, the chalk wars were but a chapter—a whimsical interlude that had sparked a friendship unlike any other. Areum and Yeon Woo embraced the newfound sense of liberation, cherishing the moments of freedom and playfulness they had discovered together. It felt great for both of them to enjoy their lives like ordinary kids their age. They had never had such fun in their life ever before. They had always been set as an ideal student, who is studious, listens to the teacher and never breaks any rule. They felt free when they finally did something that did not pose them as a model student.

Their chalk-covered hands and smiling faces were a testament to the joy they had found within each other's company. As they bid farewell to their classmates, they knew that their mischievous adventures were far from over. The next recess would bring new surprises, laughter, and, most importantly, another chance to strengthen their unbreakable bond.

Hi! I'm back! Did you like this chapter? Was it fun? As I said before, some of the parts of the story were taken from my  real-life experiences and the chapters till this were all part of them...

I was actually one of the scholars and every teacher's favourite student for how I always abided by the rules, studied well and I was disciplined. In a nutshell, I was a total nerd and I still am🥲 People even called me the teacher's pet because of it 😅 That day, when I had that chaotic chalk fight with him, it made me feel a sense of liberty I had never felt before. We made each other loosen up from the image of the "mOdEl StUdEnT". It felt great! And that may also have been the day I started feeling  something more than platonic feelings for him. This makes me feel nostalgic!✨

I hope you like the story so far! Love you all! Goodbye!
