Adriana's pov

I hopped out of bed after I saw the time 2 pm and went to take a shower. Today is the day my boyfriend Alex is going to meet my dad for the first time we have been going out for 4 years

I still have no idea how Alex never met my dad after that long, but I just hopped into the shower, and the hot water fell over my body. I got out and wrapped the
Soft towel around me and walked out

I went to my closet and grabbed a long white dress I put it on and dried my hair and did my makeup and checked the time 4:01 I grabbed some heels and put them on and walked downstairs

Alex was coming around 4:15. At least, that's what he said, and I saw my dad "dad please be nice," I said, looking at him
"Hey, I'm a nice person," he said in a joking tone

"I will," he said, getting up and hugging me. "You look beautiful," he said, and I smiled. Then the doorbell rang, and a maid opened it, and I saw Alex walk in. I saw him and hugged him, and he hugged me back

When we pulled back, he looked at my dad and his jaw clenched. My dad seemed confused but still greeted him, we all walked to the dinner table and sat down. I would still be confused by Alex, but I shook it off

As we ate, my dad asked him a few questions, but he answered coldly after dinner. I walked to the kitchen, and Alex followed me. "What's wrong?" I asked

"Nothing bit. Can we go somewhere?" He asked."Um sure, " I said, and we walked to my dad."I love you. I'll be back soon. " I said,"Love you too, be careful, " he said, and we left as Alex drove his knuckles turned white

I was concerned but didn't say anything, and we stopped outside, and little wooded area "what are we doi-" I was interrupt by him pulling me out "Alex stop" I said trying to pull away from his grasp

And we got to a little cabin, and he pushed me in. "What's this?" I said, looking around,"your father is Lerenzo Hart. " he said his jaw, clenching

"Yes," I said, confused and his face turned red and I turned to look around and I heard a bang and I looked to my side red staining my once white dress I fell and looked at him "alex" I said choking

"Maybe once his precious daughter is gone, he'll step down," he said, pacing around "what" I said, confused. "we will be number one," he said, ignoring my existence "alex please" I said, choking

My white dress was now red, and I began to feel lightheaded he looked at me once, and I saw the look in his eyes no longer the loving, sweet ones I fell in love with

Now filled with hate like the devil was in him, and I still had no idea what he was talking about as I heard another boom I blacked out

I woke up to beeping and bright lights "ria" I heard dad's voice say "dad" I said looking around "what happened" I said looking at the hospital room "alex is part of the German mafia hey saw me and tried to kill you to hurt me

So I would step down, and his mafia would be more powerful. " he said his jaw clenched."I'm sorry, " I croaked "no dear its not your fault, " he said, holding my hand. I was so thankful for my dad

Mom left after Jack died. I think it was too painful to see us being me, and Jack looked like dad, so it was like a reminder. I missed her, but I wanted her to be happy

Even though she wasn't never a good mother, I loved her she would hit me and Jack when dad wasn't around

After a little in the hospital, I went home I fell onto my bed and it felt like heaven  compared to the hospital then I got a knock at my door "come in" I said and I looked up I saw Anna our maid

"Hi," I said, smiling. "Your father wanted me to tell you dinners at 6" she smiled back "ok thank you," I said and nodded. "I'm glad to see you ok," she said

Anna is an older lady she's been with us since I was a little kid. "I'm pretty tough. It will take more than that to kill me." I joked

She shook her head, smiling, and left. I got up and turned on my shower and stripped off my clothes, and looked at the scar on my side and another one in my leg that must have been the other boom I heard

I climbed into the shower and let the hot water engulf me once I got out. I put on some sweat pants and sweatshirt

I walked downstairs and yo the dinner table. I smiled and sat down across from my dad. He smiled and me and the maids and I brought the food out me and dad thanked them

And after we ate, he spoke up "so" he started. "Know what, let's take this to my office," he said, and I knew it was important we never go to his office

Unless it's important, we got to his office, and we sat down, "so I wanted to let you know of some news I found out." he sighed and looked at me

"What happened, dad?" I said, looking at him. "I went to the doctors a few days ago before alex did what he did," he said, gesturing with his hands "dad" I said

"Ok, so I'm going to stop beating around the bush. I have cancer," he said, and I felt my heart stop. "How bad is it?" I managed to say

"I've waited too long there. There's nothing we can do," he said, and I felt myself tear up,"but the mafia we have 2 choices. " he said,"It's your choice. " he said, and I nodded

"The first choice is marriage" he said "no absolutely not" I said sitting back he smiled "I knew you would say that so I could teach you how to manage things and you will have to train alot

And you will have to be the best" he said "ok I'll do that then" I said "are you sure" he said "yes I don't want your mafia going to some rich prick who just uses me"

I said and he smiled proudly and I started waking up at 4 in the morning to train for 4 hours then my dad would teach my how to manage stuff

He would take me to the warehouses with me sometimes too
