A soft gray shape moved subtly across the forest floor effortlessly, while her partially blind apprentice struggled. They both padded down a little pebble path until they heard the crashing of a waterfall. In the distance, the gray she-cat saw the silhouettes of her fellow medicine cats and their apprentices.

"There it is," she muttered. "The Starfall. Tansypaw, let's go."

The gray medicine cat picked off a burr that got stuck in her pelt before moving on, keeping a close eye on Tansypaw. When they reached the end of the path, the three medicine cats and their apprentices all greeted each other.

"Good evening, Grayflower," one of them said, giving a curt nod. "How's the prey running?"

"Good evening to you too, Reedsong," the gray she-cat replied back. "Everything is going okay back home."

"Reedsong?" Asked another medicine cat, a golden tabby. "Do you have any more Yarrow? We're running low."

"I'm sorry, Dewflower," Reedsong mewed sadly. "We happen to be running low too."

"I could offer you some. We have a ton back at camp." Grayflower offered.

"You would do that?" Dewflower asked surprisingly.

"Of course. I could send you a bunch tomorrow. I'll even send some extra catmint if you'd like. I know it's almost leafbare, and whitecough and greencough could spread."

"We have plenty of catmint," Reedsong meowed. "But thanks for the offer." Dewflower nodded in agreement, even though the two she-cats were from different Clans.

"We should head in now, while the moon still shines," the other medicine cat growled. She pointed to the entrance with her tail.

"Morningleaf's right. We should stop chit chatting and start the half-moon meeting." Reedsong muttered.

All the medicine cats agreed, and started to head inside. After a few tail-lengths of walking, the medicine cats found themselves standing in front of a giant glowing boulder. The Moonstone.

Reedsong and her apprentice, Thrushpaw, went up first. They touched their noses to the stone and fell asleep. Dewflower and her apprentice, Ivyheart, copied. Then Morningleaf and Ebonytail, and Grayflower and Tansypaw.

Grayflower felt drowsy, and soon gave in to her sleep, arriving in a strange, starry place.

"Welcome, Grayflower," different voices mewed in greeting.

Grayflower stirred around, waiting for whatever StarClan wanted to share with her - if they even had anything to share. All her thoughts disappeared when she saw a familiar black shape.

"Nightwhisper!"

A dark gray she-cat with lighter specks came down from the clouds, her greenish yellow eyes gleaming with empathy.

"Good evening, my child. I trust that you are keeping your clanmates healthy?" She purred.

"Of course, mother. D-do you have anything to tell me?"

"I just so happen to have a prophecy to tell you." Then, with a different voice, she mewed.

"Maple will rise to combat when bloodied shadows threaten to destroy the forest."

Grayflower stared at the dark gray she-cat in shock. Maple? Does she mean MapleClan? Why would MapleClan be part of a prophecy given to the DuskClan medicine cat?

"Nightwhisper, I-I don't understand. Maple?" Grayflower stuttered.

"Two cats. Maple. Bloodshed. That is all StarClan has allowed me to say. Farewell, my dear daughter." And with that, Nightwhisper has faded away.

Grayflower called her deceased mothers name, but no reply. Suddenly, the gray she-cat found herself drowning in a sea of blood. She saw small flashes of moments that would happen in the future. Just when it felt like the end, she bolted awake. She looked around frantically, trying to figure out what the prophecy meant by "Maple". She subtly stared at Reedsong and Thrushpaw, but still had no ideas.

Grayflower felt stirring beside her, and every other cat slowly began to wake up. After everybody was awake, they all went their separate ways.
