Emma

Prom night is the night that every teenage girl dreams about. We watch movies and tv shows, showing how amazing prom can be as we are transitioning to ending our days as high schoolers. My dress is a dark purple that shines when the lights hit it. My shoes have beautiful gems to match and my hair is styled like Padgett's hair during the prom scene from He's All That. Absolutely love that movie, and watch it all the time on Netflix. I should have had Eric watch it last night, but we had a different kind of fun so I'm not too upset. I look at him with his hair slicked back wearing his black suit with a dark purple vest. He had a Moonvista carnation pinned to him while I wore it on my wrist. The flower matched us perfectly and I'm glad I took the time to look for it. We walked hand in hand into the main entrance of our school's gymnasium. The theme this year was Enchanted Forest, we all agree we wanted our last big event till graduation to be magical and this is what the juniors came up with. It really looked as if we were walking into a magical forest, there were trees, flowers, and bulbs that looked to have fairies in them. It was insane how awesome this all looked.
Eric and I searched for Tracy and Adam as we got here a bit late because we decided to have some fun in the morning forgetting how tight our schedule was for the day. We spot them on the dance floor busting out some moves as others around them cheer.
"Well, we might as well join them," I half yelled at Eric so he could hear me. He gives me a quick nod as we make our way to the two of them. When on the dance floor, I tap Tracy on the shoulder to get her attention.
She turns to see me and smiles, "You made it."
"Yeah sorry we came in a bit late," I told her.
"It's fine, I need a drink, let's go sit real quick," she hooks her arm with mine and drags me to a table in the far left corner.
We sat down in our seats and saw that Tracy got us drinks as well. We drank and chatted for a little bit since the songs were trash to us at the moment.
"Eric, did she seriously tell you all about Mr. Hottie from the gym we go to?" Tracy asked shocked that I have talked to him about it, but does not completely believe me.
"Yeah, she told me about him," Eric answers, but doesn't put much into the conversation since he knows what she knows.
"Wait, Mr. Hottie?" Adam asks confused about what we are talking about.
"Yeah, when we had to change gym schedule because of Emma's tutoring we saw this one guy that Emma thought was super hot. Hence why we call him Mr. Hottie." Tracy explains.
"Did you not learn his name?" Adam asks.
"Nope," I answered laughing at how I talked to Mr.Hottie a lot but never asked his name.
"Well, what did this guy look like? I used to go in the mornings, so I might know." Adam questioned.
"It doesn't really matter..." I started, but Tracy cut me off.
"He looked very similar to Eric except he didn't wear glasses and had green eyes. He almost always wore a black tank with red basketball shorts." Tracy explains, Adam's expression goes to shock which confused me. Why is he so shocked, does he know who we are talking about? I looked at Eric and his expression showed that he didn't get most of the conversation.
"Umm that Eric," Adam says.
"What's me?" Eric asks, that seemed to be the only thing he heard.
"Dude, they think you and this hot guy at the gym are different people," Adam laughed, making this out like it was a funny misunderstanding.
"Not sure what you're talking about Adam?" Eric says, giving Adam a slight glare that I noticed. Wait, was Eric and Mr. Hottie the same? They dressed completely differently and their demeanor was different. Also, Eric has green eyes, not blue ones.
"Yeah, remember you got contact lenses and dressed differently because you didn't want anyone to notice you so you could work out in peace without it disrupting your school life." Adam laughs, "You were super worried about classmates seeing you."
My eyes widen in realization, Mr. Hottie was Eric ... .ERIC! Holy shit! No, this can't be happening like I noticed they looked alike, but I thought they might be related somehow. Not be the same fucking person! I stood up as I was to run away from the new I just learned.
"You were playing me," I laugh. What better revenge is there beside making your bully fall in love with you, twice. I told him about Mr. Hottie and he just sat there listening to me like he had my back when I was actually talking about him to his own face. What the fuck, how the hell could he not tell me.
"Emma, calm down. I can explain everything, but you're gonna have to let me." Eric says light touching my arm, I jerked away from him.
"Was it fun, letting me have a crush on you? Was it fun hearing me gossip about you? Was it fun Eric? To let me believe you actually cared when in reality this had to be payback."I almost yelled, but didn't as I didn't want any attention on myself.
"You made me think you was my friend, we got frisky more than once and to top it off we had sex and you have the nerve to let me believe you and Mr Hottie was different fucking people." I could feel the tears wanting to escape, but I kept them in.
"Emma could you at least let me explain?" Eric asks.
"What the hell can you say Eric to make this better. Oh, it did start out with m wanting to fuck with you, but once I realized how fucked up you was I started pitying you which lead to love. Did that sum it up because I think that it did. God, I'm so fucking stupid thinking I had a chance in anything," I say as I get up from my seat.
"Well this has been a great time, but I'm gonna head on home now." I drink my drink and start heading out the door. I feel someone grip my wrist, knowing who it was I quickly jerk my wrist out.
"What?!" I glared.
"We drove my car here," he says as he places his keys into my hand. I take them and leave the gymnasium. I quickly walked to his car, got in and drove off crying my eyes out the entire way as my heart felt broken for the first time.
