Scared By A Monster- Abused Percy Jackson

A deserved ending

Piper Mclean POV-

I sat on Percy's bed, "You need to get a haircut, Perce." I laughed a bit as I gently pulled his front hair and put it in a pulled back pony tail.

"I-I don't have t-time. The last time i-i got my h-haircut was six months ago." Percy said, playing with a fidget toy he got from Leo.

"Wow." I laughed a bit as I sat next to him. I could tell he was feeling sad and conflicted. "What's wrong, Percy?" I felt his body tense before he took a deep breath.

"C-can I ask you s-something, Pipes?" He asked.

"Of course, you can tell me anything." I said, putting my arm around him and rubbing his shoulder.

"Why, why are you guys friends with me. Even after finding out my past." His voice was quiet, but he didn't stutter, "why do you even stay around me. Is it because I'm the savior of Olympus?"

"What. No, we hang around you because we like you, percy. Not because of your titles, or power, or any of that." I said, holding percy closer, "We’re friends with you because of who you are. Not the two-time savior of Olympus, not the son of Poseidon. Just Percy Jackson. Annabeth is dating you because she fell for you, Percy. Not your titles. "

He was silent but looked at me with a few tears streaming down, "Thank you, Piper. For being my friend and sister." He smiled a genuine smile, not the fake ones he put on for us after remembering that hell.

We heard a knock, and we both looked  at the door. "Sorry, am I interrupting something?" Asked Annabeth.

Percy shook his head, "C-come in." He said, wiping the tears away. "W-what's up, Wise girl?" He smiled at her. Annabeth must have also seen that it was a genuine smile because her face grew a huge smile.

"Well, I wanted to ask if you want to have a movie date night, and if Piper wants to join, I'll invite the other too." Annabeth smiled while looking into Percy's Sea-green eyes.

"S-sure, can I a-ask them?" Percy said while getting up.

"Of course, Seaweed brain." Annabeth said as she gave him a quick kiss.

Percy smiled widely after she did that, "I-I'll be back s-soon." He then left, giggling like crazy.

"I'll go get the projector from Chiron." I said as I was leaving, but Annabeth pulled me back.

"Hey Piper." She said, "Thank you for being their for Percy. I'm sure he's more open to you. So, thank you for being a sister to him. Especially after he remembered that hell. " She looked at me and smiled with a few tears threatening to fall down.

I smiled, "You don't need to thank me for something I would always do. He's as much as a brother to me as I am a sister to him." I said, "And he needs some time to open up. So don't think you mean less to him after he was reminded of that hell. He'll open up to everyone over time, and we can all help him."

She nodded before hugging me, "I'm just scared I'll lose him to himself. What if the fates don't save him again." She was crying a bit.

I hugged her back, "Like I said, he will open up to you and the others over time. So we can help him and stop him. He's trying not to bottle up his emotions as much."

Annabeth pulled away and wiped her tears before smiling. "You're right. I'll go get the projector from Chiron." And with that, she left to the big house.

I couldn't help but feel bad for her. She's really scared to lose Percy, especially by his own hands. But I can tell Percy is really trying to open up more after remembering the hell he went through. It's only a matter of time until he opens up with us completely, and we can help him.
