You changed me

chapter 1

"Promise you'll call me when you get there." my mom says as she hugs me for the thousandth time.
"Alright mom." I say while pulling away.
"Flight 27 now boarding." I hear a woman say over the intercom. "That's my que." I say hugging my mother one last time before picking up my bags. This is it.
"Okay sweetie I love you. Please be careful."
"I will mom, I love you." I say and hand the flight attendant my ticket and board.
As I settle in my seat I began to think of my new life in California with my dad and older sister. I haven't seen either of them since the divorce but my mom thought it'd be a good idea for me to move in with them for the school year.
I don't see how though change scares me and moving all the way from New York to California is a giant change. Not to mention the fact that I have to attempt to mend the broken bond between my father,my sister,and I.
I'm also going to a new school with a bunch of people who may or may not like me. I was never really good at blending in, but I don't mind I like to be alone in my own world.
My sister Caroline on the other hand blends in perfectly, everyone likes her and that's how it's always been. We never really got along for that reason we were just so different from each other. She was always the one to take risks and i was always the one who just stayed to what I knew and liked. Nothing has changed for me really but as for her I'm not sure. I had always assumed she would stay the same, but after 3 years of not talking to one another she might of changed. I hope she has, it would make this year a whole lot easier.
As the plane takes off I close my eyes deciding to take a nap in hopes of the time change not affecting me .
