"Hola!" Cooper shouted as he opened the door

"What are you doing here? Oliver's not here, Harper said as she bit into a piece of bread

"Oh, I'm not here for Oliver, I'm here for you. Cooper smiled as he walked towards Harper

" "Hmm? Why?" She asked.

" There's a carnival and i wanted to bring you i heard you love carnivals " cooper smiled at Harper as she stopped chewing her food 

Really? she asked as he nodded

"All right, I'll change. Harper smiled as she ran upstairs and quickly picked a cute outfit

" Hurry!" Cooper shouted as she walked down the stairs

" Ok I'm ready!" Harper smiled as cooper got up and walked to the door

"Woahhh," Harper said as she got out of the car

"Cool, right?" Cooper smiled as he took her hand and dragged her

"Let's get ice cream, it's hot" Harper smiled as Cooper nodded and they walked towards an ice cream stand.

"What flavor?" The lady asked.

"I'll have chocolate" Cooper said as he looked at Harper

"Chocolate too, please." Harper smiled at the lady, who nodded. She looked like a sweet lady Harper thought

"You guys look good together" She smiled as Harper's cheeks burned and Cooper looked at the ice cream fiercely.

"Oh" the lady said as she chuckled

"In time, I guess" she smiled as she handed them their ice creams.

" That lady was funny " harper smiled as cooper stayed quiet

"You know it's a bit hot right now. What about the arcade?" Harper said that as Cooper's eyes were somewhere else, she followed his eyes, and they landed on a beautiful, much older girl with beautiful blonde hair, and Harper's smile faded.

Cooper was the worst person she could have a crush on. She had liked him for too long. Sometimes she thinks he likes her back, but it was apparently impossible. She knew she said she moved on, but it was a big, fat lie. She had still liked him because he was the only boy she ever thought about, not the guy she was going out with a week before. Now he had asked her to come here just to see her, and Harper's heart was broken.

"Let's go, Harper said as she dragged Cooper to the blonde girl. As they got closer, the girl said hi.

"Hi! I love your shirt!" Harper exclaimed. It was true, she loved the girl's shirt so much.

"Yeah, it's cool, Cooper interrupted as Harper fiddled with her hands

"Uhh, I'm going to get some drinks. Want one?" Harper asked as Cooper shook his head, and Harper quickly walked away.

* 40 minutes later

Harper was looking at the beach when someone stood beside her

"You never came back" Cooper said softly as she rolled her eyes

"The line was too long" she said quickly as Cooper nodded

"I have something for you" Cooper said, handing a big teddy bear to Harper

"Thanks, why didn't you give it to the blonde girl? I thought you liked her" Harper said

"I won it for you, actually" Cooper said shyly as Harper nodded.

"Let's go, Aaron and I are watching a movie" Harper said as she quickly walked away, leaving Cooper alone.

"You've been playing for so long, Alex groaned as I sighed.

"I want to give Harper a gift," I said quickly. I wanted her to remember this day, so I'm trying to play this game. I remember the last time we went here, she wanted a big teddy bear so bad, but we couldn't win, and Oliver had given up. She looked so sad the whole way back home, and I felt so bad for her and mad at Oliver. i wanted to buy her the teddy bear but she had said she wanted us to win it

"Seems like you like this girl so much that you want to play this stupid game." Alex smiled. She was teasing me. I hated it.

"She's just my best friend's little sister" I said as she shook her head in disbelief. What is Harper to me?

"Then what are you doing trying to win her a prize When you can just obviously buy all of this?" She said, smirking. In truth, I wanted to buy it all for her, but that would be too easy. I wanted to work hard to see a smile on her face.

"Shut up" I spat as I focused. A few moments passed by, and finally, I had scored.

"Yes!" I shouted as Alex clapped her hands

"Good job, she's really lucky to have you as her brother's best friend" Alex said, her eyebrows going up and down.

"I'll take the teddy bear," I said, ignoring what she said as she laughed.

"My advice is to find out if you really like her and don't be too late because if you are then I'm sorry for you. Don't let her wait for too long, it's obvious she likes you" Alex said as she handed me the teddy bear. I don't think I like her like that. I've always looked at her as a sister and an older sister for my little sister.

I walked around looking for Harper and wondered why she never came back. Then I remembered where her favorite place was, it was the beach. I quickly dragged my feet, and as soon as I laid eyes on the beach, I recognized the girl with brown hair in a cute outfit. I smiled softly before walking up to her.

"You never came back" I said softly. Was she tired of hanging out with me?

"The line was too long" she said quickly. As I nodded i turned around to see the line was nonexistent. Oh, she's definitely tired of hanging out with me. I didn't know why it hurt, but it was the first time I felt it, not even when my parents would leave me and my sister alone.

"I have something for you," I said handing her the prize I tried so hard to win just for her.

"Thanks, why didn't you give it to the blonde girl? I thought you liked her" Harper said as I almost laughed. Not going to happen, plus she is a lesbian.

"I won it for you, actually" I said shyly. I didn't mean to be shy, but when I'm around her, sometimes I feel that way, but it seems like she totally got over me, and I'm happy for her.

"Let's go, Aaron and I are watching a movie" Harper said as she quickly walked away, leaving me alone. I'm really, really happy for her. So happy

I quickly walked to our house as Cooper's car dropped me off. Why do I still like him when everything he does breaks my heart?
