Craig's POV

I made my way to the kitchen as I got down the stairs, flickering the lights on and looking around the kitchen for something to eat. Or to make something to eat ... and to be honest, I really don't feel like making anything right now. Not this late at night. I eventually found a few protein bars in the pantry, took a few and made my way up to my room again after turning the light back off.

I laid back in my bed and scrolled through TikTok on my phone, snacking on a protein bar held in my other hand. Videos of guinea pigs and Nascar were covering my whole recommended page, as well as my head too. God I love these videos.

I watched videos for what seemed like hours, empty protein bar wrappers scattered my bed sheets and mattress as I looked around my room after some time, realizing they were all gone. I checked the time soonly after, reading 2:51am on the top of my phone screen. God damn, I was scrolling through videos for 3 hours. What the fuck, it only seem liked 10 minutes at best. I sighed and got up, picking up the bar wrappers and throwing them away in the small trash can in the corner of my room. I let out a small yawn as I made my way back to my bed, crawling back onto it and laying flat down on my stomach, being consumed by random useless thoughts.

'What the actual fuck would Kenny want me over for? We aren't even friends, the most we do is smoke together. And the weird fucking interaction from yesterday...' My mind just surrounded with thoughts of Kenny. Confusing thoughts. Weird thoughts. 'Me and Kenny were basically nobodies to each other a few days ago and now he's acting like we're all buddy-buddy and shit. Weird ass kid.'

I moved onto my side and sighed, continuing to think about all the weird shit that's been going on. Until my thoughts got interrupted by some high pitched squeaking being heard from the other side of the room. I flipped myself over and looked into the cage spreaded across my carpet. It was Stripe, running around and carrying on. Seems like she woke up.

I let out a groan as I got out of bed again, walking over to her cage and sitting down on the floor in front of it. I opened the latched door and scooped Stripe out of her cage, placing her on the floor as I refilled her food bowl. I trusted her not to run off under my bed or go into my closet, she wasn't really much of a runner anyways. She practically stayed right next to me as I refilled everything.

I took a few treats from her bowl and picked Stripe up in my other hand, holding her close to my chest as I got off the floor and brought her to my bed, laying down on my back as I placed her on my stomach. I showed a slight smile as I hand-fed her the treats I brought, petting her head with the thumb of my other hand. Stripe seemed so comfortable and relaxed the whole time, which really made me happy. Glad to know I'm treating her correctly. I let out a contented sigh as I closed my eyes and laid my head onto the pillows behind me, not knowing I would be drifting off to sleep at that moment.

LATER THAT SAME DAY

And before I knew it, I woke up, looking out my window to see sunlight shining into my room. I sat up and stretched my legs out with a groan. I looked around my room and noticed Stripe was back in her cage, just sitting there and looking around. Did someone put her back in there? Did I put her back in there? I know damn well she didn't go back in her cage and lock the door. Who did?

I got up from my bed and stretched my arms out, barely touching my ceiling with my fingertips. Damn I had long arms. I yawned and grabbed my phone off my nightstand, checking the time as I walked out of my room. 12:15pm... I read as I went down the stairs into the living room.

"Hey Ruby, did you put Stripe back in her cage?" I asked my sister, who was sitting at the dining table eating who knows what, as I sat down on the couch.
