Delilah
I pulled back slightly away from Rocky, a smile on my face. There was no way on earth Rocky was being serious right now.
"Rocky," I scolded him. "You can't be serious." I chuckled, but Rocky wasn't chuckling with me. Without any words, Rocky ran his fingers through my scalp, and pulled our mouths back together, kissing me rougher than he ever had, before making his way down my neck and to my collarbones. I giggled at the sensation of his facial hair tickling my skin, before he slowly inched down further, placing small kisses around my breasts.
I let out a soft "Oh" as he slowly made his way to my nipples, the pink buds peaked at his mouths firm attention. And just as soon as I anticipated him pulling my nipple in his mouth, he moved away.
I let out a desperate grunt, "You're teasing me." I accused in a whiny voice, feeling a tingly agony all the way down to my toes. He grinned against me skin as I pulled his head right back where I wanted him, and he gave a soft chuckle as he finally latched onto my sensitive nipple, giving a soft pull. I let out a literal whimper at the feeling, holding him tightly to me. But Rocky only gave one more suck before he released me, moving up to run his nose a long mine.
I was in a complete daze until he spoke again, "I'm serious. Marry me."
I felt butterflies. I rolled my bottom lip into my mouth, not sure of what to say. Does he honestly want this? Does he feel bad or something after what we've done? I couldn't wrap my head around it.
"You don't even have a ring." I pointed out, scrambling to find a way to make this made sense. "I don't want you to think you have to rush into this."
Rocky didn't hesitate. "I have a ring in my pants pocket."
"You're bluffing." I immediately answered, as he placed a final kiss on my mouth, before grabbing under my shoulders and lifting me out from underneath of the water. Before my brain could comprehend how strong he had to be to do that, he pushed himself out of the pool in that weirdly attractive man way, and went directly to his pants. He picked up his slacks, and sure enough, he pulled out a black box.
I swallowed thickly, staring at the box in his hands. He grabbed my cheeks and tilted my face up to his, "Stop worrying. I'm not bluffing."
I looked between him and the box. Nerves filled my stomach, "This seems sudden." I admitted.
"It doesn't to me." He acknowledged.
"When did you buy this?" I asked, and for the first time, I saw him hesitate.
"You want the truth?" He asked, stoic in a way that told me he was feeling pretty vulnerable, and I nodded immediately. "Yes, please."
"The day after you spent the night the first time." He admitted, waiting to see my reaction. "I bought the ring the morning after. I just knew." He explained, like he didn't just alter my life completely.
And ohhh boy I was not expecting that. He bought a ring after I threw up on him? If I didn't love him so much I'd be concerned.
"You bought me a ring the morning after I threw up on you?" I let slip, my throat tight with emotion, but he only shook his head as he got down on one knee, and opened the box. "Marry me, Delilah."
I bit my lip at his words when a sudden realization hit me,"Oh my god, if we do this, you're going to be Janet's dad." I informed him, and the corner of his mouth curled into a smile. "Lilah?"
"Yeah?"
"Stop talking and look at your ring." He told me, and I laughed as he stood to his full height, showing me the ring he bought me. When I looked down, I realized it was the most beautiful ring I had ever seen. He had to go through my pinterest or something, I made a mental note to ask Reese.
"You really want to do this?" I asked, a smile on my face.
"I do." He answered, and I let him put the ring on me. "Then I do too." I told him, sincerity in my voice. And for the first time since I'd met him, I watched as Rocky smiled.
