" Are you sure he's actually willing to meet me?" I ask Mary, who is running like a squirrel on caffeine. "Freddie would be delighted to meet you! And so would the boys." She assures me, rubbing the back of my hands. "Are you sure?" I ask her again. "I'm sure." She says, stopping herself because we were at the door. As much as I loved Mary, I hated how she always threw me into random habitats and forced me to adapt. Now I was to meet her boyfriend and his friends. They were a band, they were called Smile. Mary knocked on the door and it a man with brown hair answered it. He had big blue eyes and his hair went down to his shoulders. "Hello Mary." He says to me. "I'm Mara, that's Mary." I say awkwardly, sticking my thumb at Mary. He blushes a bit and laughs. "Sorry. Hello Mara and Mary. I'm Roger, Mara." He says to Mary. "I'm Mary, that's Mara." She laughs.

"Hello you two. I'm Roger. Come inside." He gives up and motions for us to come in. I walk in, clutching Mary's hand tightly. A man with sunglasses and bell bottoms kisses me on the cheek. "Hello darling. So good to see you." He says to me. "Who do you think I am?" I say, possibly sounding unintentionally offended. "Mary Austin of course who else?" He says. "Mary's on the left, I'm on the right. I'm Mara." I say. He gives Mary a kiss on the cheek as well. "Much better. I'm Freddie." He says. A man with long curly black hair walks up to me. He shakes my hand. "So you're Mara. Nice to meet you, I'm Brian." He says with a grin. A man with long, straighter hair than the others, and a frown walks up. "John deacon. Pleasure to meet you." He says rather hurriedly.

As soon as I shook Brian's hand, I felt a spark. I have always known how relationships will turn out for anyone. I used to call it my little superpower. And it's not just romantic relationships, its also relationships with family and friends. Usually they turn out fine, but there is always going to be a few unhappy endings. I knew in a few seconds of contact the way that my relationships with each of them would end. Brian's was by far the best, John already has a girlfriend, Veronica. Roger has a girlfriend Dominique, but he's not very faithful. And Brian, single, hot, and faithful. "Well, who's who?" Brian asks. "I'm Mara, I'll start wearing the opposite color from Mary." I say.

We start chatting and Brian tries some icebreakers. "What's your full name?" He asks. "Mara Amor-Belle Austin. My middle name is french. It's love and beauty together. What's yours?" I return. "Brian Harold May. But it feels boring compared to yours." He laughs. When I look up, I notice everyone is gone except for Freddie and Mary. They go upstairs, leaving us all alone. Together. "Do you speak French?" I ask him. "No." He responds. "je pense que tu es vraiment mignon " I say. "Can I tell you something?" He asks. "Sure." I respond. "je pense que tu es mignonne aussi." He says. The words hit my ears like a bullet. It happened so fast, my brain couldn't even process what he just said.

My head was spinning and my breathing got lighter. I started taking deeper breaths trying to catch it, but it felt like it was floating away. "I- you- t-thank y-y-you." I managed to stumble out. He puts his palm onto my jawline his fingers resting softly on my cheek. He closes his eyes as his face gets closer. He puckers his lips and they connect with mine. I was 23, and he was 26. Yet I hadn't had my first kiss. I wasn't allowed to date until I got my own property, as in a house or home. I had just gotten out of college so and got a steady job. I got an apartment and was allowed to date. His lips were soft like cotton and silk. His nails started to dig into my back, as I run my hands through his thick, curly hair.

Mary and Freddie come back downstairs, their hair and clothes messed up. Mary's hair was wild and all over the place instead of straight. Her clothes looked sloppily thrown together than they did before. The same with Freddie, leading me to be suspicious. They just stared at us in shock, and we break the kiss quickly. Brian is panting, staring back at them. I give him a quick glance and see his cheeks are bright red. "Oh my." Freddie says. "You're one to talk." Brian says. Freddie and Mary walk upstairs without saying another word. "Well," I say, standing up and straightening out my blouse. "I should get going. I mean, those chores aren't going to do themselves." I say. I go upstairs and grab Mary as we leave. Despite Mary's protests to stay with Freddie, I dragged her out to the car.

We drive home in silence and Mary slams the door. We walk in and start cleaning. Suddenly, a rocky horror picture show song comes on. It was touch a touch a touch a touch me. I start singing as I wipe the counters, as a strand of hair falls from my loose ponytail. "I was feeling done in." I start singing. "Couldn't win." I continued. "I'd only ever kissed before." This song hit a little too close to home, it described exactly how I was feeling. "I thought there's no use getting, into heavy sweating." Honestly, that's exactly how I felt until I met Brian. "It only leads to trouble and, bad fretting." Mary looks at me, seemingly astonished. "Now all I want to know is how to go" I continue singing.

By now, the whole counter is cleaned and the floor is swept. I take Mary's scarf off of her neck and wave it around, mocking her. "I've tasted blood and I want more." I continued, taking a step onto the couch, throwing the scarf with a smirk. Mary watches me in shock, trying to catch her scarf. "I'll put up no resistance, I want to stay the distance." I dance and smile at Mary. "I've got an itch to scratch, I need assistance!" I cartwheel off of the couch, not caring about Mary and her judging looks anymore. I've always been so much of a performer, and a pretty good singer too. I've never gotten a chance to tell that to anyone, and I've never set sail for acting. "Touch a touch a touch a touch me" I say.

I open my eyes and see Brian standing there in awe. Mary is nowhere to be seen. That's when I realize that I did everything, all of it, in front of him. Brian is standing there, looking like a cherry. My cheeks feel like they're on fire. I run out to my bike and sit on the stool. My tears cool down my cheeks slightly. I put my feet on the pedals and push as hard as possible. Before I get halfway down the street, I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn my red, bloodshot eyes towards it. Of course, it's Brian may. Without saying anything, his lips crash into mine. As Brian gets deeper into the kiss I push him back a bit. "Bri, I should really go." I say. He leaves a hickey on my neck. "Ok, see you later my love." He says. I sit up straight on the bike and blush, only to pedal away.
