"'Question what you know.' Who said that one again? It's a good quote."

"The narrator. His entire being was to insight questions, make people question what they knew to be true and change their thinking. He's known for his love for cats and literature, of all things."

"And what's your opinion on bringing him back?"

"No way. He was created to insight literal mental breakdowns on the reader. He was purposely created to be a parallel to the government in George Orwell's book 1984 . Some of his most notable quotes are just direct quotes from the book. He's not a good guy, just a child who decided to play god, but couldn't deal with the consequences of his actions in doing so."

"Okay, then eliminate any alternate universe ideas dealing with him, please."

"Already done."

"Great, thank you. Now, anything else you would like to filter out? We need to pick a good alternate universe, something that we haven't seen lots of and will make people feel satisfied while reading. Oh, and add in an autistic character. We need to get some representation somehow."

"Well, if you include the tags 'fluff and angst, tommyinnit is not okay, and minor character death', you get here. And then exclude the tags 'major character death, hurt no comfort, sad ending, and cults' You get this. In my opinion, it's perfect."

"Hmm. 'When will you realize Vienna waits for you'. Isn't that a lyric to a song?"

"Yep. It's Billy Joel's song Vienna. Very good song, really catchy."

"I like it. Bookmark it and send it to the thoughts section, maybe they'll actually decide to sit down and finally write something that isn't a Dungeons and Dragons campaign."

"We can only hope. One day they'll come back to writing. One day. We just have to wait until then."

When you write a fanfiction, one that is slightly successful as 'Oh We Can Be Heroes' was, it's honestly really hard to make anything else after that. I felt like I had to live up to a really high standard, that I was NEVER going to produce anything better than it. I lost my love for writing, and I'm notorious for writing really angsty things, but I'm in a better headspace now and I just cannot write that anymore. (Well, in that capacity. I can still write angst, thank you very much). That led me to writing the little section above, my little creativity worms in my head creating random prompts to try to get me back into writing. Somehow, this one stuck. Now, I'm here. Back and better than ever.

So, to new beginnings with familiar faces. After all, there are billions upon trillions of universes out there.

Who's to say there isn't one where I never wrote in the Cult?
