On the other hand, Miyuki glanced at Hina. She was distributing some rice cakes to the team members. He remembered what happened last night. That was the second time he saw her crying. The first one was when they first met and he helped her and the second time was yesterday. 

Truthfully, he didn't mean to kiss another girl in front of her but he was so agitated that he did that to provoke Hina more. However, that didn't seem like a good idea to the point that even he panicked when Hina suddenly blanks out without flinching despite everyone calling her.

"Ella, can you distribute this to the bullpen instead? I'm sorry I think I need to go and assist Kuramochi on batting."

Miyuki sneered at what he heard. He knew she had been avoiding him since this morning. She didn't even attend the morning practice and didn't even talk to him the whole day. Whenever they made eye contact, she would always look away, and even now, her assigned job is to list how many pitches the pitcher throws but she casually passed it to other managers.

Before, she would've talked to him nonstop and even exchange jobs so she could stay in the bullpen.

Miyuki clenched his fist at the sight of Hina with Kuramochi. He didn't know why he felt betrayed or why is he so mad now that Hina started ignoring him. Isn't this what he want all this time?

So why? Why does his heart hurt? Why does he keep looking for her?

'Ah, f*ck!'

"Captain, how were my pitches today-"

Miyuki walked past Sawamura who was about to ask him something and grabbed his bat. He was heading to where Kuramochi was batting.

"Should I throw the balls higher? I think that would be better since the pitcher you'll be facing tomorrow like to throw high balls," Miyuki heard Hina said.

"Assist me too. I need to practice batting."

Miyuki felt Hina stiffened at his voice but he still stood beside her.

"Hey, stop that. Ask another manager instead."

"No, it's fine. It's my job to help everyone on the team. Don't worry, I'm fine." Hina smiled at Kuramochi to assure him she was fine and looked at Miyuki who was now waiting for her to throw some balls

Kuramochi then retreated and went to get food for him as soon as he heard her words. Miyuki laughed sarcastically at the sight before him

"He's following you instead of me, the captain huh?"

"I'm sorry captain, he was just worried about me. Please let it slide." Hina uttered respectfully and put a distance between them. It was unlike her cheerful voice. Just plain and formal.

Miyuki clenched his teeth at the change of her way of speaking as soon as Kuramochi left.

"What? Do you like him? Is that why you're defending him?" Miyuki asked. There was a trace of anger in it despite him trying to hide it. For some reason, he doesn't want to let Hina know that he's mad because she talked softly with Kuramochi but proceeded to be formal with him.

"Like him? I don't know what you're talking about captain."

"Why are you suddenly acting formal? Ah, you found another man instead? Ha! Why? Are you jealous of how I kissed a girl in front of you last night? I can kiss you however you like--"

Before he even finish speaking, he felt his cheek sting. He stared at Hina blankly as soon as he realized he had been slapped  by her.

"Why is it so easy for you to speak those words? I've always genuinely loved you. You know that more than anyone else and I've never failed to let you know about it every single time. Yesterday was my wake up call. I realized how pointless it is to invest more time loving you. I don't want to be treated like leech anymore. I also want to be loved and be in a relationship with another man that's why I... I n-need you out of my life. So please, don't make it hard for me..."

"N-no way, if you t-truly want me out of your life, then you w-would've left the team first." Miyuki denied, almost pleading as he trembled for some reason he didn't know. He felt like someone is choking him.

"I... It's true that I became a manager because of you but as time passes, I came to love the team. I-I d-don't want to leave them just because I gave up on you."
