I took my keys out of my bag and unlocked the door to the shop. Walking in I deeply inhaled the scent of flowers. It was refreshing. I turned on the main lights before making my way to the back room. I set my bed down and checked the clock, '9:10'. I still had time before opening the shop, so I decided to start my usual routine. I carefully examined every single flower and plant in the shop making sure they were healthy. I was the only florist in this small town so many people came in. I needed to make sure every single flower and plant was healthy and well maintained, otherwise people would drive into the city instead and that's not good for business. I carefully watered and cared for the flowers until the sound of the back door made me lift my head. I looked over and saw my best friend Felix walk in.

"Hey Ji" He walked over and gave me a bear hug. "Hey Lix, you ready to start working?" I smiled warmly at my best friend. "Of course!" he exclaims making his way to the front counter. I was always so grateful for having him. When my mother passed he made sure I ate daily, showered, and drank plenty of water. He would listen to me cry and cuddle me to sleep every night. He would be there for me whenever I needed him. Sometimes I think I don't deserve him, but then I remember that we need each other. He needs me just as much as I need him. I was very happy when he agreed to help me reopen my mother's shop. He would always tell me "We are doing this together, never alone." and I couldn't be more grateful. We have always been comfortable with each other, never afraid to share our deepest secrets. I guess it helps that we have been Best friends since the womb.

"Hey Ji, you know that guy I was talking to?" I look up and nod. "Well...he asked me to be his boyfriend.." I jumped up and ran to him with a huge smile, "Really?! And what did you say?!!" He looked at me with a huge blush forming on his face, "I said yes.." I started squealing and squeezed him out of excitement. "Ji..I can't breathe.." I quickly let go and chuckle, "Heh sorry about that...I am so happy for you lix." I smile, "Thanks Ji...by the way when do you thi-" I quickly cut him off. "Oh, look it's ten let's open up shall we?" I skip over to the front door and open it widely then switch the close sign to the open one. I knew what he was going to ask but I somehow felt embarrassed. Out of all of the 22 years I have lived on this earth, never once have I had a romantic relationship. Don't get me wrong, Ive tried but they either say, "I'm not gay sorry." Or "Ew I'm not gay". So naturally I was surprised when felix was able to find a guy in this place. I have always dreamt of having a lover but somehow never achieved it. It annoyed me a lot when I crushed on someone who wasn't gay, because I knew I had no chance. I have thought about leaving town and moving to the city, But I never really pushed it as more than just a thought. After opening up, I walked to the back and grabbed my gloves to start working on some sprouts I had growing.
