"♪♪Yo Skrill drop it hard♪♫" My chaotic alarm went off at 6:30 am, I opened my eyes in frustration to my dark room that stayed pitch black throughout the day, the only source of light, my phone's screen flickering to the alarm's music. I felt my head pounding. " God! I need a cigarette so bad" I thought, somehow managing to pick my body from the embrace of lethargy.
I picked up the phone and put the alarm on for 10 min snooze to ensure I didn't spend too long in the shower. I had only slept for 3 hours, and I didn't feel like sleeping more but I didn't want to be fully awake so I don't think about my mentally exhausting life.
I jumped into the shower gradually switching the water from lukewarm to hot to boiling just so I could feel something, anything other than what I was currently feeling, the bathroom fogged up instantly as the water poured down my back, my skin turned red but I was numb to the heat. Finally, my head was clear of all thoughts but that solace was shortlived as my alarm went off again.
I dried myself quickly and got into my uniform, grabbed my bag, and left my home as soon as I could so I don't have to talk to anyone and can keep my morning as peaceful as I could before all the chaos took over. I rode my bike to school in the chilled weather, I rode as fast as I could feeling my skin getting numb from the cold. I stopped for tea and smoke before going to school. " This is it this is the only peace of mind I will get today," I thought as I exhaled the smoke from the last drag of my cig before putting it out. As I entered the school I saw one of my ex "best friends" Fred.
Fred had been my friend since grade 6, he came from a religious family and was proud of it but his actions were anything but holy, it would be fair to say Fred belonged to the streets as he only went home to sleep. He was a ride-or-die guy who believed expressing emotions was a weakness and was one of the very few people from school I hung out with but we hadn't been very close for the last couple of months only ever seeing each other in school, He was still my friend but by this time I had stopped believing in Best Friends delusion.
"Yo, How you doing my G?" asked Fred, "Not bad, how you been?" I asked him. "you know me, bro, I'm still hustling, by the way, I heard you were fucking the teacher, I knew you were into milfs " he laughed. I shook my head with a smirk on my face " I'm not fucking her" I confessed, " Well why not? Don't tell me you love her" he said, "I don't, but before we get to that, what made you come to school today ?" I asked. "My dad has been on my case about not studying enough for exams, if I had known you were coming too, we'd have ditched together, But I'm guessing you're too busy rooting Karen" he tried to provoke me. " Im not rooting her! but we should definitely ditch school tomorrow " I said, "Done !" he acknowledged.
