The next week rolled by faster than he could keep up with, and it was the day of the funeral. Little of Denki was left in the UA dorms, 3/4 of his belongings were gone, his room empty. Everybody was dressed in their smartest, most appropriate suits. Bakugo was wearing a Black suit with a smart white shirt, and a small black tie. His hair was as tamed as it could be, looking much neater than usual. Everybody was shocked to see he was actually wearing a tie properly for once. But it was understandable. And as a class, they all went to the groundings where the funeral would commence. It felt like a sting, constant and irritating. Aizawa greeted Denki's parents, and gave them a sincere apology for what had happened to their son. But surprisingly, they asked for Katsuki. Aizawa looked at him and tilted his head to indicate the fact he was wanted. With a gulp, he set foot towards them. He anxiously stood before them.
"Yes, Mrs and Mr Kaminari..?"
He asked, wondering what they wished for of his presence. 'Do they blame me..?' He thought to himself, gulping once more and feeling a huge guilt in his stomach. She hugged him.
She hugged him so tightly."Im so grateful for you.. thank you for trying to save our boy.."
His mother cried, appreciative of the blonde teen.
"He always spoke about you, im sure he was happy to pass in your company"
His father said, patting kat on the shoulder.
Bakugo was confused, he started tearing up.
"O-oh..- i uh- it.. its nothing, im.. sorry for your loss.."
He replied to them, talking through the tears that were now apparent and strolling down his cheeks. His mother wiped his tears with her thumb and hugged him once more.
"You're an amazing kid, you should be proud of yourself honey.."
She praised him, herself too, crying.
"Thank you."
His dad spoke, giving him a small hug.
"How can i be proud..? Its my fault.."
He mumbled, not meaning to speak aloud.
"Oh sweety.. no, no it isn't your fault at all.. he didn't tell anybody he was struggling.."
She told him and felt pure sadness for the teen in front of her. Kats eyes widened.F u c k.
"Oh no.. no- i-.. he-.. sorry.."
He apologised, Aizawa watched as he started to slowly crumble again.
"Okay.. thank you for your time Mr and Mrs Kaminari, we're going to go back to our places, thank you"
The freshly shaven raven said with a bow, and escorted Katsuki back to where he was stood.
"You okay..?"
He whispered and got a nod.
"Okay.. well, you can step outside if it gets too hard on you Bakugo"
He reassured him and rubbed his back.Eventually, The ceremony began. There were bouquets of flowers around his casket, all of the little gifts and special memories people had gathered in front of it. Everybody paid their respects, cried, smiled and showered eachother with love. Their little collage played and it made Denki's parents laugh and become super emotional. Bakugo was sat beside Izuku, Eijiro, Sero, Jirou and Mina. He was clearly a mess over all of this, but he didn't cry that much. Why? Because his body was practically drained. He couldn't cry much anymore. The aura was upsetting, yet surprisingly calm. It was a funny feeling. It was unlike any funeral Bakugo had ever been to before. It was time for speeches from the mourners, after his parents gave such a lovely and heartwarming speech, Aizawa was up.
"As most of you knew, Denki Kaminari, an aspiring hero with a contagious smile, an amazing personality.. to us at UA, he was more than that, he was more than a hero. He was more than 'just a classmate', he was one of us, apart of our little family.. And just like a family member, that darn kid would do what it took to save others, to keep us safe. He was a superior little kid, and never failed to make others laugh. He was my student... a beloved son.. and to some, he meant the absolute world to. He isn't just a hero.. he's an idol. A memorable student to me, and a terribly missed friend to UA. We'll miss you, Denki. Rest in Paradise kid.."
Shota had to clear his throat, as his voice was cracking at the end of his speech. With droplets of tears in his eyes, he stepped down and placed a rose onto the casket. He sat back down in his seating and tried his best to smile through it. The class took it in turns to give their speeches, and now it was Bakugo's turn. He wanted to give a speech. He silently walked up and took a deep breath.
"Denki was one of my friends, i miss him more than anything in the world right now. I-.. i wish i was there for him.. i wish i knew what he was going through. He was always an amazing friend to me, and although he could be persistent.. he always got his way with me. He held a special place in my heart, i could never say no to him. His angelface was irresistible. Gosh.. he was perfect in every way. I'd give anything to see him one more time. I'll miss him, so very much.. i feel honoured to have known such a noble.. sweet.. kindhearted soul.. and ill never forget him.."
His voice slowed as he got to the end, he was choking up and giving it his best not to cry. He walked back to his seat with his hand covering his lips as he forcibly held in his feelings.
"You did great, kacchan.. im proud of you.."
Izu mumbled and gave him a gentle hug.The funeral came to an end, it was memorable for them all. On the way back home, Bakugo Katsuki didn't speak a word.
