(Kennedi's POV)
We had already been through a week of school?? I was shocked. I guess it went by fast because of Cecilia, my new best friend. Of all new people, she was the best one. Her parents are really messed up though. Could you believe they sent her here to make her straight?? Poor thing.
We have every class together and it's the BEST. I feel so comfortable around her. I want to hang out with her, but apparently she's always busy with her so-called 'Church events'. I don't know anyone else here who actually goes to church.
The rest of 7th grade went by so fast. We just got closer and closer every day, especially in Mrs. Smith's class. She let us sit together and talk all we wanted! It was around February when I finally got her phone number. We literally FaceTimed every day.
My mom knows everything about her that I know. Her favorite color, her backstory, her strongest subject, her birthday, her star sign, practically everything. My mom always tells me to invite her over because I really don't have many friends, but she's SOOO busy I never can.
Everything was all fine and great until around April. She had this friend named Julian who I don't really talk to often, but didn't like me for some reason. She randomly started to FaceTime him instead of me every single night, and wouldn't tell me if I did something. She may have just been bad at managing her time talking to friends wisely, but it hurt. She even sat with him in Mrs. Smith's class sometimes. Like, seriously??
When I finally decided to talk to her about it, she played the victim. I couldn't stand it! "I don't talk to him more often than you. Are you crazy??" I started to FEEL crazy.
If she wants to play that game, I'll play that game. I started to distance myself and work on me and my brother Sam's relationship. It was never bad, but couldn't hurt to get closer, especially if it meant being petty.
We stopped talking pretty much altogether and once Summer started, we maybe talked once. It's weird how friends just come into your life then go as fast as they came in.
