chapter 5: i wanna be with you

Sadé was laying down in her hotel bed covered with her own blanket. She had an early morning tomorrow so she knew she needed to be going to sleep but she just couldn't.
These were the best hours to be awake, she could do anything she wanted.
She was currently scrolling through her social medias, not really paying attention to anything she was seeing.
That was until Duke's pictures came up on her feed once again.
The other day when he posted, his picture ended up on her explore page for the first time. She couldn't help herself when she liked his pictures and followed him. Somehow, his supporters caught her so fast.
So this time was no different. She clicked on his username so that she could be redirected to his page. She had already scrolled through all his posts the other day so this time she decided to go through his tags.
She saw a lot of clips from his twitch streams and the AMP YouTube channel. She clicked on some where she saw him giving motivation to his supporters, fighting Kai, and even some where he was singing Rod Wave. But one clip caught her eye.
Duke sat at his computer live on stream. His chat had been going crazy all night.
They kept wanting him to call females or have multiple females come over. To try and appease them he was currently playing smash or pass with people they gave him.
"Cindy? Who tf is Cindy chat?" He asked them back after they asked if he would smash or pass whoever Cindy was.

"I know y'all not talking about fucking Cinderella." He was confused as hell. "Y'all on bullshit." He couldn't help but start laughing.

"Sadé? Shit I'm marrying that!" He exclaimed, rubbing his hands together. "That's all me!"
Sadé couldn't help but blush and feel a little giggly. Usually a boy already liking her was kind of a turn off for her, but with Duke it just made her feel elated. She couldn't stop the grin from appearing on her face.
She kept scrolling and came across a fan edit of Duke. It was to the song "Soon As I Get Home" by Faith Evans. And to her, he looked every bit of fine in the video. She didn't know what it was but edits by fans made everyone look 10 times better.
Eventually she made her way back to his page and ended up just mindlessly scrolling through his pictures for the second time. She was currently on his first Instagram picture ever posted and decided to check out the comments.

Sadé always laughed at the old jokes his supporters made about him. He was only 5 years older than her, but the jokes were still funny to her. She had gone back to click on the comment icon when her phone vibrating startled her, causing her to accidentally like that picture.
"Shit" she cursed out loud, even if she unliked the picture he would still get the notification. She was feeling a little embarrassed now. She just hoped he would ignore it once he saw it.
She thought maybe this was her sign to finally go to sleep. She turned her phone off and shut her eyes. But she couldn't stop thinking about her liking Duke's picture. She tried to forget it but it's like her brain just wanted to torture her about it.
She was just about to doze off when her phone went off. Reaching behind her to grab her phone, she squinted her eyes once it turned on. She noticed she had a new notification from Instagram.

Sadé couldn't believe it. She hadn't been on a date in so long, so this was definitely going to be a new experience for her.
She knew she had to get to sleep now, she didn't want to be tired tomorrow. She put her phone on the charger beside and turned to go to sleep.
But the butterflies she had in her stomach wouldn't settle down and the smile on her face wouldn't go away.
