She was so undeniable happy with just being the boy's arms as they continued to softly dance, something that she longed to see her parents doing when she was younger.
"I hope Damon didn't drive you too crazy." Stefan spoke apologetically as he gazed down at Seraphina, despite the situation being so vexing for him.
Despite the promise of an eternity of misery he truly thought, not to be insensitive that Damon would get over it as again they had an eternity to live.
Although his belief that Damon would somehow do something negative or bad drew a few beige flags in Seraphina's mind.
"No, actually he wasn't as bad as I expected at first," She said softly with a shake of her head, hoping he wasn't as bad as the feeling she got when he was around. "don't ever tell him I said that."
With that the two chuckled together as they lazily swayed on the dance floor, their movements fluid as they both had learned the steps in their youth.
"No worries," Stefan spoke with a small shake of his head, there were a million and one reasons as to why they never talk. "Damon's head is big enough."
Chuckling again the two continued to dance around in harmony with those around them, but with curiosity and worry pouring into the back of Stefan's mind, the teen couldn't stay silent for long.
The thought of a vengeful and near psychotic Damon having any alone time with someone that means so much to him, only furthered the horrid emotions that flooded the vampire's overly sensitive body.
"So what did he say?" He asked in a tone that was obviously prying, something that was clear to Seraphine, however she only that it to be curiosity.
"He apologized actually," Sera asked without much question, more so focused on keeping up with the beat of the music and being in Stefan's soft presence. "explained why he is the way he is, it all goes back to Katherine you know?"
As she asked, Seraphina natrurally looked up at Stefan in an attempt to gauge his reactions to what she'd said, already noticing his habit of getting defensive at any mention of his ex-girlfriend.
"Figures." Stefan stiffly muttered with a slight roll of his eyes, although his motions in their dance never faltered or messed up.
That being said his words did little to quell the curiosity that was brewing the young woman's chest, she somehow growing more and more curious about the one piece of Stefan's past that garnered such a harsh reaction.
"So tell me about her," She asked softly taking a glance at the ground and at their feet moving in a soft unison before she looked back up at Stefan, knowing they'd have to talk about it eventually. "what happened?"
Nevertheless, despite the soft mood that she hoped would soften the teen's resistance on talking about his past, Seraphina's soft request was only met with a light shake of the boy's head.
"It's not something I like to talk about." Stefan declined softly, trying to dodge the subject in hopes of hiding the past that he knew his brother was trying hard to expose.
Knowing that it would cause him to leave the only peace he'd felt in the last few decades, especially since he'd finally gotten a real hold on his blood lust, something that was often a hard for a ripper like him to do.
"Sorry," Seraphina apologized softly as she was once again met with nothing, causing her own steps to stutter a s she thought back to all the words that everyone said about her not knowing him enough to be so attached to him. "no worries."
With that she softly pulled back, feeling a more than a bit disgusted with herself as she thought on how she'd nearly given herself to the teen in a more than intimate way yet she knew so little about him.
She didn't even know his middle name in all honesty, she realized, nevertheless seeing the conflicted look on her face and watching her pull away from him, Stefan quickly knew his reaction was a bit to closed off.
Making him realized that he had become so used to being alone, without a relationship with someone who didn't already know who or what he was.
"Shit Sera-Seraphina I didn't," Stephan attempted to take back his words as he stepped forward in a rush after Seraphina, who was slowly trying to walk away from him not wanting to continue to cause a scene on the dance floor. "I didn't mean it like that."
With that Stefan lightly grabbed a hold of the young half-breed's wrist, quickly causing the girl to turn back toward him the two quickly moving closer not wanting others to hear any of their business, that being more so Stefan than Sera.
"I can understand us not being close enough for the ex-talk," Seraphina began as she looked at Stefan, anxiety welling in her chest as she didn't want him to think she was crazy for possibly overthinking their situation. "but you can't blame me for thinking something's going on with you."
Although hearing the girl's words, Stefan knew she wasn't overthinking it as he knew he had a habit of moving to fast as in his mind he had all of eternity so why squander it with pushing on slowly, yet that wasn't something humans had the ability to be privy to.
So he could only lie and attempt to change the subject, cursing his older brother deeply in his mind.
"Nothing, Sera," Stefan continued to instisted as he stepped even closer to Seraphina, wishing his lies were truth as he still didn't feel it was the right time for her to know without labeling him a monster and screaming it over the hills. "nothing's going on, did-did Damon say something?"
Yet hearing the teen pushing all the blame onto his older brother once again, Seraphina couldn't help the exasperation that raised in her chest, causing her to turn away wishing she could be swallowed up by the ground as arguing without getting loud was never her strong suit.
"He likes to play games and cause trouble-" Stefan continued not noticing the irritation that was starting to build in Seraphina's brows, not used to being misunderstood so quickly when she was trying to make a clear point about her frustrations.
