Staying alert, Airi activated her empress in order to heal herself using reverse cursed technique while Gojo looked out for the curse who had already disappeared from their sight before she could even get a glimpse of it.

"You okay?" Gojo checked up on her, surprisingly calm which made her question if they were dealing with a special grade or not. Did he even know himself? Why was he so calm?

It didn't take her long to heal herself and soon enough she was back on her feet, standing side by side with Gojo, trying to look out into the darkness to try and locate the curse. She could feel it's intense presence now, it was hard to ignore.

She was focused on trying to figure out what the markings may relate to, and she could tell Gojo was doing the same.

"Maybe some sort of poison?" She suggested, her voice slightly straining from the pain that was slowly fading away.

Out of the corner of her eye, something moved so fast she thought she had imagined it and didn't hesitate in spinning around to face it. She knew she it was real though since Gojo did the exact same thing, both of them waiting for it to show up any second.

The markings on the wall had now returned to their usual black color, which Airi guessed meant it was no longer in use, though she still had no idea what it meant.

"No. It's different." Gojo shook his head, his body stiff as he stood tall, towering over her and forcing her to bend her neck to look up at him.

He didn't explain any further, which meant that that was probably all he knew. They both were at a disadvantage, but Airi knew deep down she wasn't in any real danger since she was with Gojo, that didn't calm her though.

Her stomach twisted when she felt it behind her, it's cursed energy becoming so overwhelming that it was slightly hard to breathe.

She gave herself roughly three seconds to take in it's appearance as she glanced at it over her shoulder, grimacing at the looks of it. It seemed to be half bear, half snake. It's right arm was like that of an animal, massive claws on the end of it which must of been what dug into her side. However, the curses' mouth was that of a snake's. It's tongue stuck out and made a hissing noise, revealing it's fangs which sent goosebumps down Airi's spine.

But what caught her attention was his other arm which resembled just a normal human arm, but on each of his fingers were a marking, the one on his pointer finger corresponding with the markings on the wall.

The room had seemed to lighten a bit and more markings had appeared, slightly surrounding them, which was a bit worrying considering they had still yet to figure out the marking's purpose.

"Go ahead." Gojo said smugly, crossing his arms and leaning against the wall next to the markings while being sure not to touch them. He was going to make her fight on her own, that was clear to her now.

"Damn you, Gojo." She muttered, rolling her eyes before focusing them on the curse as they turned white, her hand resting on her daggers, slowly pulling them out of her pocket behind her back.

The curse's grin widened as it noticed her preparing to fight it, it didn't speak but it was obvious that it was having fun already.

Not wanting to look at it's face any longer, Airi quickly dashed forwards with two daggers between her fingers, immediately imbuing some of her light energy into them, amplifying them as she neared the curse.

It simply just took a step backwards and held it's claw in front of it's face, the claw seemingly growing in size by the second, which meant she couldn't waste any more time.

Airi hurried to release both her daggers, shooting them in the direction of the curse, acting as a distraction while she closed the gap between them, her gaze focusing on the two daggers, one heading straight for the curse's face while the other went past him.
