Hyunjins knows of the mistakes he's made in the past. He's known the damage he caused and the pain he's brought to other beings like him and others the complete opposite of him. But none have replayed like one's favorite song. Tarnishing his own with the looks, the gazes, and the visual feelings of the one he hurt the most.
"Ouch!" Felix squealed, shaking Hyunjin from his daze that directed his full attention back to the younger boy. Shaking his hand drastically, "Lix what happened?!" Hyunjin asked out of worry, "Uh... you burned me..." Hyunjins eyes dropped along with his worrisome expression.
"But! It- it's fine I forgot that when you're in your headspace, your body starts heating up on its own. Should've known..." Felix nervously laughed, trying his best to shake off the embarrassment. He couldn't help but be saddened about it, showcasing a pout after he had been punished for something silly as attempting to hold Hyunjin's hand as they walked.
They were able to leave the school through the room window, one by one and hand by hand walking further into the forest to god knows where.
Hyunjin quirked a brow disregarding Felix's backfire, he made the move instead and snatched onto the poor boy's hand. Felix gasped lowly at the other contact that connected to his hand, "Wh-" Not even having the chance to respond back did Hyunjin take it further.
"Hyun-" Hyunjin hissed when he intertwined their hands together, "Damn that hurt." He laughed lowly. Felix grew unamused and worried.
"Then let me go, don't hurt yourself because of me." He whined like a child. Hyunjin looked at the boy from the side and smiled, "Okay, would you do the honors?" He responded teasingly.
A scowl wandered on Felix's face and before he even knew it, he was dragging the fire user hand in hand through the unknown with the biggest smile on his face.
"Never!" He shouted with pure joy, leaving the other amused and praised. Happiness clouded his face while he tightened his grip on the younger.
God, what did he get himself into by tagging along with this boy? This ball of sunshine whose powers are used to keep someone at bay and have their feelings locked off and kept away from the world. Had the gods been mistaken for giving these powers to them? Had they been wrong with who they gave these abilities? Had it been different if he and Felix were to have never been born into their families to have inherited such troublesome responsibilities?
Why did their childhoods have to be taken for granted and be gone in the blink of an eye before they were able to take their first step onto this new so-called euphoria?
It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair Hyun-jin thought to himself every night. It wasn't fair how his thoughts and feelings had to be revised and rejected for the sake of others' own mistakes. Hyunjin was the kind of person to assume when someone who has made a mistake is in the wrong and not put himself out in the open to be trampled on.
But for now, he and Hyunjin were just two young teens, frolicking in the beautiful trees. Plastered all around the forest. Dancing in the sunlight hand in hand as their worries washed away like the contact once water meets fire and the disaster has finally disappeared.
His worries become nonexistent, and all there is to see is him.
And Hyunjin would be damned if he were to ever lose him ever again.
Aggressive waves shook the earth to its core. the birds flew alongside the sound of the wind in a repeated rotation. The sun shown ever so bright even was it was near close to being consumed by the stars that surrounded the sky at night. And then once you look down, a short yet just slightly taller boy trespassed areas they were forbidden.
