"Come on!" A young girl yelled out. "Get off the ground!" Her feet dig into the ground as she strained to pick up the sword. She stopped, trying to recollect her breath.
"You got to focus Marie." Marie looked over to this voice. It was her mother, Warspite. Warspite was walking towards her. She was looking at the roughed up ground.
"Did you drag my sword out here again?" Warspite sighed as she looked and the long drag marks on the grass.
"Only cause I can't lift this freaking sword mom!" Marie tried lifting the sword again and just like before she could only lift up the handle side of it.
"You have to focus Marie. Your doing everything right, but focusing." Warspite walked behind Marie.
"I'm just not strong enough mom." Marie lowered the sword dejectedly.
Warspite grabbed her daughter shoulders and turned her to face her. She then crouched down to be at her daughters head. "Marie, you are strong, incredibly strong. Sweetheart, remember when you got upset at your cousin Lizzy for teasing you about a boy. You grabbed the nearest object which was a cricket ball and threw it through a tree.
"M...Mom!" Marie turned bright red.
"You are strong dear. Remember what I taught you. Don't think, just do and your body will know what to do." Warspite pointed at her daughters head. "It's all up here sweetheart. Trust yourself." Warspite gave her daughter a kiss on the forehead and then backed up a little behind her.
Marie gripped the sword again. She took a deep breath and lifted. "You can do it Marie!" Her mom called out behind her.
Slowly but surely, the sword started to rise. "Lets... do this!" Marie yelled as the sword flung up. She could help but smile, but she lifted the sword up with such forced it cause her to fall back losing her balance. As she tried to regain her balance, the sword swung around violently.
"Uh-oh." Warspite quickly ducked to avoid the sword.
The sword swung completely around, gaining speed. The sword slipped out of her daughters hands and went flying at high velocity into the tree. The sword cut cleanly through the tree, cutting it in half. Warspites eyes widen as the top part of the tree fell.
"Oh no... your father is going to lose it when he see's this." Waspite sighed heavily as she walked over to pick up her sword which flew further back until it dug itself into the ground.
I'm so sorry mom! It just slipped out of my hand. I didn't think I'd lift it up that quickly. Please don't be mad." Marie slowly followed her mom.
"I'm not mad Marie. More shocked than anything. You threw that with such force, it'd probably cut through destroyer or light cruiser armor." Warspite looked at her sword which was laying on the ground.
"F...for real?" Marie looked super surprised.
"Yes dear, I told you have the strength. It's all about focus and control. So now we work on your control." Warspite put her foot under the sword and kicked it up in the air. It flew a couple feet in the air before landing in her hand. She then extended that hand out to her daughter. "Are you ready to take this step dear?"
Marie smiled brightly. "Of course mom!" She reached to grab it, but before she could.
"I'm home. I heard a lot of noise when I was pulling up in the driveway. Is everything ok in the backyard?" Edward, Warspite's husband and father of Marie walked out to the back yard.
"Dad wait!" Marie yelled, but it was too late and he already entered the backyard. He froze at the sight. "D...Dad! I can explain!"
"What happened to the backyard!" He put his hand on his head and his back hit the house. He slid down it. "Last time it was the fence... but what happened to the tree!?"
Warspite gave Marie her sword and ran to his side. " I'll explain it later dear, but first lets get you inside.
Before they could enter the house, Marie yelled out. "Mom wait!"
Warspite turned her head back and titled it curiously.
"Thank you mom. I love you." Marie was beet red, but was smiling brightly.
Warspite beamed back at her. "I love you too dear."
As Warspite took Edward back inside. Marie looked at her mothers sword in her hand and gripped it. " I won't let you down mom.
