HAVE YOU EVER MET SOMEONE THAT YOU KNEW COULD DO DANGEROUS THINGS TO YOU?

Everest looked at me like her prey. Her presence seemed to lord over me heavily.
I coughed uncomfortably after shivering under her gaze. I could barely collected myself as I placed my hand in hers, "H-Hi. I'm Royce."

I became suddenly very aware at how soft and sweaty my hands were.

"Yes, I am aware." She said curtly. Her dark grey eyes wore an emotionless expression as she looked me up and down slowly, making me sweat even more.  Her expression gave nothing of her thoughts away.

I knew I wasn't very tall, only about an inch taller than she was. I still had my work attire on which consisted of black suit pants, black leather shoes and a silk navy button up shirt. I knew for a fact she could see every detail of my own anxiety in my eyes.

Her hands weren't soft or silky, they were calloused and rough. She stood comfortably but confidently infront of me in a long sleeve black shirt, black washed skinny jeans and a sleek pair of leather ankle boots.

She seemed rude, which was a put off to say the least. I tried to rationalize it, maybe she had a bad day or flight, but she did nothing to hide her disinterest of my presence.

I removed my hand quickly, catching her attention. I was nervous for whatever reason, but I knew I needed to let go of her hand before things got weird or my hands got too sweaty. Which ever came first.

Unknowingly I began to twitch uncontrollably and found myself struggling to keep eye contact, my anxiety was setting in rather fast. I cleared my throat, "It's nice to meet you. Do you have all your bags?"

Everest nodded and pulled her suitcase a bit closer to her, "I do. Ms. Matthews told me you'd be taking me to dinner and then to my hotel, correct?" Everest sidestepped me and placed her suitcase in the backseat.

I rubbed the back of my neck uncomfortably, "Yes ma'am. I am yet to pick a place, figured you'd like to pick."

She nodded, "Sounds good to me." I couldn't help but watch as she fixed the cuff of her sleeves. She wore an emotionless expression, leaving me sitting in the mystery that was Ms. Cooper.

"Uhh..Here you go," I reached for the passenger door, opening it for her. Fire spread through my chest and continued down when her eyes locked on mine.

Only thing to be seen in her eyes was mystery. She thanked me and got into the car. I shut the door and took my time to the drivers side, getting in as slowly and as gracefully as I could.

It was getting late and honestly, I just wanted to be home. But I knew how important this guest was to my boss, and if I didn't have to do this, the twins would've pulled me to a night intense drinking which is never my favorite.

Once the door shut and I turned on the car, I turned to Everest to find her on her phone.
"Where would you like to go?"

Silence lingered in the air. I waited for a response, but was yet to be met with one.

"Ms. Cooper?"

"Yes?" she responded with a short tone, not even looking up from her phone.

"Where would you like to go for dinner?" i asked again, slightly annoyed.

She went to answer to but was cut off by the sound of her phone ringing. She answered it without hesitation, quickly looking to me telling me that anywhere sounded good.

I withheld the urge to roll my eyes and decided to wait till she was done to receive a real answer. This woman had no manners.

Why did I have to be given the task to drive this woman around when I could be at home with my cat?

She barley spoke a word to the person in the other end, leaving them hanging dry with only a few of her "Yes's" and "No's". When her call was finally complete, she turned to him swiftly, her eyebrows furrowed.

"Why haven't you started driving?" she asked irritated.

Before I could answer, my phone began to ring. I searched my pockets quickly to turn it off but Everest was quick to press the 'Accept' button on the car display.

The loud sound of club music filled the car. "Royce! Are you done picking up your errand yet?" Robin yelled over the music.

Hit with shock I tried to speak but failed. Robin continued to yell, "Did you ask them if they want to come to the club with us?"

Suddenly Everest spoke, "Yes. We are coming." She leaned forward, her eyes finding mine and never leaving them.

"Aspen! She said they are coming!" Robin didn't withhold his drunken excitement, but he still had some sobriety left to catch that Everest was the one who spoke, "W-wait, who are you?"

Silence hung in the air as she stared at me, "The errand."

Then she hung up.
