"EEEDETHHHHHH!!"
Light brown eyes swiveled up from where they gazed out over the port, taking in the bustling ships that came and went. That little town, humble and quaint in its nestled location deep within Northern waters, so far removed from the direct influence of the World Government and yet still capable of holding its own against the threat of pirates. A threat that had resurfaced once again, though this one felt different. Such a unique color, that bright yellow with its billowing black sails...
"Yeah?!" You called back over your shoulder, forced to tear your eyes away from the curiosity they beheld.
Dark chestnut hair came into view up over the curve of the hill, wild and free, chilly air tousling it into a further mess. "There you are. I've been looking for you for ages."
You grinned, ever cheeky, at the pair of sunset eyes that watched you with mild annoyance. "You should know me better than that by now, Isha. I'm always here."
"Except for when you're not. Right." He mocked with a sigh. "What are you spying on now?" A casual question masqueraded with only vague interest, but you knew better than that. Those sunset eyes with their swirl of yellow, orange, pink, and purple narrowed at the view below. "Hmph. More pirates."
"They haven't done anything." You turned your nose up with a teasing tone. "Don't be so grumpy. Most of the pirates that show up are harmless."
"Haven't done anything yet. Plenty of time for them to try something stupid." Isha huffed, hands buried in the pockets of his long white lab coat. "I simply don't understand your fascination with them."
A quick shrug answered a majority of his question along with your laugh- sharp, loud, unapologetic. Just like your dearly departed mother's. "Who knows!"
Isha turned to you and his gaze softened, even if just a little. His was an obvious interest, a soft spot that came to be after growing up together. Every day, one after the other, spent calling after each other and vying for the other's company- you to he more often than not. It had kindled something over the last seventeen years that all of the townsfolk could see, you could see, and every day it continued to come further to light.
"You're plotting again." Murmured Isha. Tentative fingers brushed back some of the dark blue strands that fell into your face. "What trouble are you up to this time?"
"Wouldn't you like to know!" Your nose crinkled and brown eyes glimmered. Trouble, indeed, but so quiet and secret.
A soft sigh blended in with the pleasant seasalted winds. "Uh huh. Just stay out of trouble, would you? I don't want to have to wrap your ankle again."
Another laugh lit up your surroundings. "No promises!" You clasped your hands behind you and leaned forward just a touch. "So? What did you come looking for me for?"
"Just to bother you."
"Liar."
"Says who?"
"Me, of course."
"Cheeky girl with a bold assumption."
Your hands found their place on your hips, eyebrow quirked. "So you're saying you missed me then?"
Isha cleared his throat and turned. "Aldyn is looking for you. Wanted your help down at the shop."
"HAH! Thought so." You teased. "Alright, tell him I'm on my way. I bet the clinic is missing you. More than you're missing me, anyway."
He blushed, flustered and annoyed. "I said-! Ugh nevermind." Isha protested only for a brief moment before he turned on his heel to head back down the hill. He paused with only the sound of the wind rustling the grass that tickled your sandaled feet. "...See you later?"
