Lisa Lim only snapped out of her daze when the food delivery person rang her doorbell. When she opened her food, the restaurant had added a courtesy cold prawn dish. Lisa Lim picked a prawn up with her chopsticks and, just when she was about to put it into her mouth, she recalled that Jeon Jungkook had told her to avoid cold and raw food. She then paused, looked at the prawn close to her mouth, and put it back into the box before she obediently began to eat her hot food.

By the time she finished eating, the rain had stopped. Knowing that her thoughts would inevitably continue to wander while she was alone at home, she packed up and left her apartment.

Lisa Lim had no idea where she was going when she left, so she ended up driving the car around aimlessly until finally turning into a movie theater parking lot that she was passing. She chose a movie based on its ratings and, by the time it was over, it was almost evening when she went outside.

The afternoon sky was still gloomy but, at the same time, dusk painted the entire city crimson red. The puddles of water that remained on both sides of the road reflected a faint red glow. Lisa Lim thread carefully around the puddles as she made her way to her car. Just when she was about to get in, she suddenly remembered a good nearby cake shop. Because she rarely visited this area, she decided it was a good opportunity to satisfy her craving for sweets. She closed her car door and walked over to the cake shop.

Being the weekend, the cake shop was busy. After standing in line for 20 minutes, Lisa Lim finally managed to select her cake and pay for it. When she turned around to leave, she bumped into a young girl and, when Lisa Lim turned back and apologized, the girl's face was visibly stunned for a moment before she said gently, "It's alright." Lisa Lim replied with a smile and passed her to exit the shop without saying another word.

When she'd walked halfway back to her car, Lisa Lim saw the girl whom she had bumped into at the cake shop, also carrying a cake box. Lisa Lim found it such a coincidence that she couldn't help but take a second look at the girl, who, upon sensing her gaze, turned to look at her and flashed a radiant smile before hurrying to a car that was parked by the roadside.

Lisa Lim easily shook it off and continued leisurely walking to her own car but, the girl had already run ahead of her and, when she opened the car door, Lisa Lim noticed that the car she was entering must have cost at least a few hundred thousand dollars.

Her family must be rich...

Lisa Lim continued to walk straight ahead as the thought formed in her mind. When she walked by the car, it was still stationery, and Lisa Lim casually turned her head to glance at it. Coincidentally, the car window was being rolled down, and Lisa Lim caught sight of the face that she had been thinking about constantly over the past few months.

Lisa Lim stopped in her tracks and stared fixedly at Jeon Jungkook in the car as if someone had jabbed her meridians. His hair was much shorter, and he appeared to be much thinner. His complexion seemed unhealthy and sickly pale.

Lisa Lim's fingers loosened up in an instant and the cake box she was holding fell onto the ground with a thud.

Jeon Jungkook had been listening to the girl talking in the car. When he heard a noise, he reflexively turned around and looked out the window in the direction the noise had come from.

Upon first seeing a woman's torso, he knew immediately it was Lisa Lim without even looking at her face. He immediately fixed his eyes on her as his tall, muscular frame stiffened. The girl smiling next to him in the car tilted her head while she was talking to him and, noticing that something was wrong, stopped her chatter and asked him, "Bro Jungkook, what is it?"

When he didn't respond to her question, she realized that he was staring out the window. She followed his eyes and looked out the window, too, and for the third time that day she saw Lisa Lim. She appeared calmer than she had appeared the two previous times, and she pressed her lips together and smiled with her eyes at Lisa Lim before subconsciously turning to look at Jeon Jungkook, who looked as though he had lost his soul. He had not moved—not even blinked—since she had asked him what was wrong. Finally, the girl quietly nudged him and softly called his name. "Bro Jungkook." Jeon Jungkook then moved his eyes down to her waist again and back to her face, where he gazed at her small, delicate chin.
