CHAPTER: A Harmonious Twist of Fate"

It has been several months since I joined the club.

Since then, every day, I found myself drawn to the club, eager to immerse myself in its vibrant atmosphere. The sheer exhilaration of being there became a constant in my life. It wasn't just about the activities or events; it was about the connections formed and the bonds forged.

Among the many delightful souls I encountered, Shirley stood out. We quickly became inseparable, weaving a friendship woven with laughter and shared experiences. Also, I became well-acquainted with everyone. The boys in the club had an incredible talent for making us laugh. They entertained us with all sorts of jokes and playful teasing, brightening our days with their light-hearted humor.

Recently, an exciting announcement was made at the club: they were going to award prizes to the most hardworking volunteers. Naturally, I believed I had a strong chance of winning the first place, considering the amount of work I had put in compared to others.

On the day of the announcement, filled with anticipation, I adorned myself in a beautiful dress, confident in my imminent victory. As I arrived at the event, the venue buzzed with the presence of neighborhood folks. While unfamiliar faces surrounded me, there were a few that I vaguely recognized, evoking a sense of slight familiarity.

After some amazing performances of kids, the results were announced. However, when the results were finally revealed, I was taken aback.

To my surprise, I ended up in the third position.

Can you imagine who claimed the coveted first place?

It was none other than Murat (who did nothing except making us laugh), with Mia securing the second spot.

Losing was the one thing that I despised the most. Being naturally competitive, my drive to secure the top position was unwavering, whether it was in academics, school events, or taking charge as an anchor for various occasions.

As I grappled with disappointment, another bombshell hit me like a thunderbolt:

there were rumors circulating that Murat had feelings for Mia. I couldn't believe it! This revelation only intensified my sense of sadness.

The day following the awards ceremony, my gaze happened upon Murat, who seemed to exert every effort to captivate Mia's attention. He engaged in various activities, doing everything within his power to strike up conversations and elicit laughter from her.

I couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy and annoyance witnessing how Murat looked at her, engaged in conversation, and effortlessly brought laughter to her lips. Ahh, it was truly exasperating."

The boys from the club were close friends with my cousin brother, Karim, who happened to reside in the same house as me. Karim and I were childhood enemies. We never liked each other. When I was little, we used to fight a lot. Since I came back, I almost saw him every day but despite living under the same house we rarely interacted.

Karim would often bring the boys from the community club to our home, but I paid little attention to their presence. One day, as I nonchalantly descended the stairs, clad in a simple t-shirt and leggings, I noticed a boy who courteously stepped aside, allowing me ample space to walk down comfortably. I paid very little attention to him. I had no idea who he was.

---

We had been attending Persian language classes at the club. So apparently, we had to prepare for a test the following day but the test was only for the girls. I went with little preparation and a lack of interest.

As we were taking the test, the boys unexpectedly showed up, even though they had no reason to be there. Murat, sitting a bit far away, began helping us cheat, particularly focusing on assisting Mia.

Once the test was over, we all dispersed and started making our way home. However, Murat stopped me along the way and said something I never expected.

He pleaded, "I want to tell you something. Please don't tell your father." I was taken aback and asked, "What is it?" He replied, "Ehaan likes you."

I couldn't help but smile a little.

It was the first time someone had expressed romantic interest in me, and it was quite surprising.

But then I wondered, "Who the hell is Ehaan? I've never even heard of him. I was completely puzzled who was this guy and how did he knew me.

I responded, still confused, "Why would I tell my father something like this?

Murat said, "I thought you were one of those daddy's princesses who tells their father everything. That's why I mentioned it, plus your dad is known to be strict."

I firmly replied, "That's not true. I don't share everything with my father."

And who is Ehaan?"

Murat explained, "He's one of the club members. He's present every day at the club.

Haven't you seen him?"

I had no idea who he was referring to. Everyone around me attempted to provide hints, but I remained clueless. Perhaps I had been too engrossed in my own group that I had overlooked the existence of others.

That night, I found myself wide awake, consumed by thoughts of the mysterious guy who seemed to have taken an interest in me. It was a whirlwind of emotions, making my heart flutter and my mind race.

As I witnessed my cousins getting proposed to and experiencing the joy of having boyfriends, I couldn't help but wonder when my turn would come. It seemed like their lives were filled with enchanting moments, and I yearned to experience the same.

Suddenly, it felt as if the spotlight was finally shining on me. Until yesterday, I had never been the object of someone's affection, but now, I had someone who saw me in a different light. It was as if a dormant part of me had awakened, and the feeling was exhilarating.

With anticipation in my veins, I eagerly embraced the words of Marilyn Monroe:

"We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle."

It was as if the universe had conspired to ignite a spark of romance, and I couldn't wait to uncover the story behind this mysterious admirer.
