the night before my first day of middle school my older sister Jen had me watch her take care of our  drunk mom make sure she doesn't choke on her own vomit, sit her up, how to clean her up from the couch how to hide all the bottles and bags how and when to put her to bed so when dad gets home he just thinks shes asleep and at the time I didn't understand why she was making me watch her but now I know she was training me because that was her last night at the house our final night together and she taught me how to to keep my mother alive

we were up past 2 am before I crashed on the couch while my sister was putting all the cleaning supplies away, so when my dad woke me up by pushing me off the couch less than four  hours later,I fell right back to sleep the floor, till I got a kick and the ''get up lazy'' scream from my dad forced me into my bedroom

when we got to high school Beth and I made sure we had as many classes together as possible and always ate lunch together her family got me my motorcycle for Christmas during freshmen year that did so much for me

Beth even rode on it once never again but once

the first day I met our close friend Benjamin was much different ...
