Samantha had felt an emotion after many years. She stared at her phone.
Amelia had given her number before the last class.
Amelia wanted to be her friend.
Samantha's heart almost burst when she heard Amelia say the sentence. Her cheeks tinted red and her lips slightly parted as she stared at the brown-eyed girl in front of her.
She rolled over in her bed, holding her phone close to her chest.
Samantha was just like Amelia, she was a billionaire's daughter, except her mother was dead. At the age of six,her life turned into what many would call a nightmare.
Her father, known as the CEO of the biggest trade company in the country. He was the total opposite of his public appearance. He would abuse her, call her a disgrace and pressurize her to be at the top of the school, no matter the situation. She was forced to go undercover, and never reveal who her father was.
But, being abused and having no mother was not Samantha's deepest secret. It was being intersex. A medical malfunction in her body which caused the frequent quarrels between her parents and eventually her mother's death.
So, after all these years of being starved of love and support, Amelia gave her a taste of how it felt like to be acknowledged.
She had a taste and didn't want to let go.
'Sam' Samantha's heart fluttered when she heard the nickname come out of Amelia's mouth. Her black, luscious flowing hair and her chocolate eyes, her rose, plump lips form the nickname.
Samantha was too deep in her beauty.
Her secret, though, would remain concealed. She did not want to lose what seemed to be a glimpse of hope.
Her eyes closed, the darkness pulling her into her very first sleep in peace.
