The man called Namjoon is now towering above me while extending his hand for a greeting. His eyes are peering into my soul and for a second I hesitate to take his hand.

"N-nice to meet you Namjoon." I manage to squeak out before gently shaking his palm. I don't know why but he makes me feel tiny and not because of the height difference. I'm not that short anyway.

"Nice to meet you too, Y/N. And it's nice to see that our Jungkookie has finally found his mate. You know he's been desperately looking for you." The dimples appear again on his cheeks as he smirks. He's a whole other person when he smiles, nothing like his dominant self from before. He almost looks- cute.

"Tsk hyung! How many times have I told you not to call me Jungkookie. I'm not a baby anymore and might I remind you I'm actually your alpha!" Jungkook huffs and growls but that only makes Namjoon laugh more.

"Pfft Jungkookie, no matter how much you huff and puff, you're always gonna be a pup in my eyes, not a big bad wolf!" He ruffles the younger's hair a bit and returns to his screen enclosed office.

"Now if you'll excuse me, alpha sir, I have piles of work waiting for me so I'll further chitchat with you during dinner."

Jungkook rolls his eyes at his brother's playful tone but nonetheless nods.

"Right. And hyung.." He stops until Namjoon looks at him and then points to his ear.

"..keep me updated, okay?" Namjoon sighs and nods at Jungkook.

I simply blink, not being able to really understand the situation the pack's in, so I just follow Jungkook out of Namjoon's office.

I let out a big breath as the door behind us closes which makes Jungkook look my way and chuckle.

"Don't be so nervous Y/N. I promise that everyone is really nice and will make you feel at home. It's just that, we're in the middle of little turbulence right now so everybody is being extra cautious."

I look at him and see worry painted across his beautiful face.

"Does it have to do with your father's death?"

"Yeah.. Everything is a mess." His eyebrows come together in agony, tainting his features with sadness and pain.

I feel a pang in my heart as soon as I see him like this and all I can think about is to try to make him feel better. And while I know it's the bond between us that's causing this feeling, I still can't ignore it.

"Hey.. it's going to be okay. You're stronger than this and you're surrounded by people who can only make you stronger. And together you'll fight through this and come out victorious."

I place my fingers on his forehead and try to ease the lines of worry that have formed on his skin. It's the only thing I can do for him at the moment, even if I wish I could offer him more than just words of comfort.

He lets out a breath as his hand envelopes my own, gently taking it away from his forehead.

"Even though you just got here you already have the ability to make me feel so much better with just a few simple words. And that makes me wonder.."

"Wonder about what?"

He wraps his other arm around my waist, pulling me right up against his body.

"I wonder, Y/N, is it the bond or simply you that's making me feel this way?"

He leans his face closer and rests his forehead on mine while closing his eyes.

"Uhm, I've been wondering about the same thing actually so, I really can't answer that.."
