Eriantha
I peered at the gate; as soon as I got out of the car, Anders stormed inside the house. He is definitely furious which confirmed that the news has already reached him, and it is bad news, very bad news.
"Mr.Karwitz, I don't think it's a good time. Let me speak with him first, please, Anders is my family, he deserves to hear it out from me." I implored, I was already panicked thinking about how I will be able to tell him about this bizarre marriage thing ,without revealing the entire truth.
Darcel looked at me momentarily, it was hard to tell what he was thinking, or what made him agree to my request, but I found him nodding, "Alright, go ahead but remember that the wedding is in a week Eriantha." I wasn't thinking about that anymore, because right now, I had to rush to Anders.God knows what all he has been thinking. Can this day get any worse than it already is? I am missing Vivian, she is the only one who can help me. But she wasn't here, for she has her own share of mess to handle. I had a glimpse of what she has been going through, I can't expect her to solve my issues when her life is already so fucked up.
No sooner than I stepped into the living area, I found Anders sitting on the couch, drinking. I was stabbed with guilt, he had completely stopped drinking after Father's demise, it's me, all because of me.
"When did they release you at the hospital? Why didn't you..." I realised the sorry state of affairs my cellphone was in, they couldn't have called me, again Darcel was right I should take a new phone, it's necessary.
My eyes travelled to his cell phone screen where the viral video from today's party was on loop, the part where Darcel smacked Mathew.Instead of responding to my question Anders said, "Congratulations Mrs.Karwitz, congratulations on climbing up the social ladder. You finally did it... Didn't you? And just to feed my curiosity, would you mind telling me, what did that cost you?"
"Anders" I was astounded by his tone and the nauseating smell of the raw whiskey that was in the air, "How much have you been drinking?"
"That's none of your business" He snarled as he lifted his finger on his lips gesticulating silence.
"Alright. I get it you aren't in your right mind." I was about to take the stairs, when I heard him saying, "There's nothing to talk about Eriantha,"
So, I am not Eri anymore, it's Eriantha."You are an adult and you chose to abandon this mess and live your own life. You chose your own happiness, just like that woman."
I froze totally getting the reference of 'that woman'
Anders had never called her mother from the day he had caught her sleeping with another man in our house.
Probably, it isn't the best day for me, and I was already pushing through it, "You don't know what you are talking about... you are way too drunk Anders. But, I am nothing like her. Please don't say that again." I quipped, fighting the tears that were eager to unleash the dam in my eyes.I heard him laugh out right at that point, "You are everything like her, don't you see the similarity, or is it worse Mrs.Karwitz? Did you actually sell yourself to that man? Because there's no other way he would pay off our entire debt."
I couldn't believe my own ears. Is it really my brother, the gentleman, the one who would always protect me, hear me out, take care of me. My big bro, my only family, because in front of me was a man who was accusing his own sister, suggesting that she has turned into a whore.
Just like Fredrik Reux...
'What do you women have? The hole between your legs, your body and you sell that to milk money from men...'
