Chapter 1:
I've only ever looked at you.
"She only ever gazed at him; admiration swirled through her eyes."

"Who is Bachira Meguru?" you asked, interest perking upon the mention of an unknown person.
Three of your classmates had surrounded you, gossiping about an unknown boy that happened to be on the soccer team. They described him as a monster, his yellow eyes darkly shadowed by a inkling depth no one willed to approach. He was selfish, had an ego, and did not enjoy playing with others, or so they claimed.
Your green haired classmate, Haruka, slammed his hands onto your desk. "He's a total weirdo!"
Weird was a word you cared not for. What had weird meant? The phrase simply suggested something was strange but not necessarily in a bad way. People took the word and ran with it, placing a label on anything they thought to be abnormal or irregular. But you didn't mind weird, because there stood no point in fearing the unknown.
If Bachira Meguru was weird, then you didn't care. You had asked a simple question and it was returned halfheartedly, accompanied by an adjective meant as an insult.
"Don't make such childish comments," you said, watching as the three students backed away.
Haruka scowled, heat rushing to his face in embarrassment, seeing that you showed no sign of agreeing to the claims.
"Judging someone by using baseless words is dumb," you muttered, disappointment in your voice, and continued, "I thought too highly of you guys."
You stood up from your seat, giving them once last look, and walked to the door. Grabbing the handle with irritation, you sighed at the notion of abandoning your duties as the president of the student council, but decided it was worth it.
"[L/n], wait, I didn't—" Haruka was cut off by you slamming the door on your way out.
Hana, the brown eyed girl who sat on the vacant seat, patted Haruka's back in pity. "She's definitely rejecting you."
"Too bad, [L/n] is too good for him," Akito chimed in, combing his blue hair with the ruffle of his palm.
"Shut up!" Haruka shouted, fists clenching in anger. He ignored Hana and Akito, secretly hoping you would forgive him, although it was close to hopeless; you had a reputation for leaving people the second they did something you hated.
Your three classmates only stared at each other, wondering how they messed up so bad.
Akito stuck his tongue out, legs moving to exit the classroom. "Well, she's not coming back, so... bye!"
"You idiot, come back!" Haruka ran after him, leaving Hana alone as she made no move.
Hana deadpanned. "Um, I'm only the treasurer so what exactly is my role when the president, vice-president, and secretary leave?"
Of course, there would be no answer as everyone else had left.
She shrugged, deciding to take a nap.

You leaned against the railings, watching the brown haired boy standing alone.
"If you stopped doing those strange passes and dribbles, you'd be good enough to aim at being a pro," the coach called out, both hands raised to emphasise his statement.
