When the sun goes down, the moon comes out. But one day, the moon decides to go upon a different, unfamiliar path, which can eventually lead to an eclipse, where the sun and moon may cross paths.
Ella couldn't believe her eyes. She was looking straight at a paper that denied her entrance into her favorite restaurant. How could they?
"Try opening the door." Parker said, just to make sure they definitely couldn't get in. She wanted today to be a good one. The best one.
Ella wraps her hand around the knob on the door and tries pulling it open. But it doesn't budge.
She sighs as her hand falls to her side, "It's okay, we don't have to go here -"
"Ella, don't say that! I'm gonna find a way in! I promise!" Parker starts looking the door up and down, letting her hands roam around the door, looking for anything that could get them inside.
And sure, it might be illegal, but she'd do anything for Ella. Especially today. It was Ella's 21st birthday.
"No, it's fine! Really! I don't want to get arrested on my birthday!" Ella whispers with fear in her voice. She didn't want to be the one to call her mom at the end of the day and tell her the news that she'd been arrested for breaking into a restaurant.
"But you love this place!" Parker exclaimed, "I'm getting you in."
Ella shook her hands in front of her, disagreeing at her friends promise. "No, no, the sign said they can't be open right now. Let's just leave before someone comes out here!"
Ella's pleading made Parker turn around to face her once again. Defeat could be seen all over her face.
"But we had a plan." She whined, "You wanted this so bad! We can't even start your birthday off on the right foot?"
"I'm okay, really. I'm good with anything else." Ella says as she pulls Parker's arm and as she drags her friend away from the building.
Parker frowned, "I'm sorry, this day hasn't been going as we planned. This was going to be a great day!"
"Hey, today hasn't been bad! We may have had a couple of frustrating moments on the way here..." Ella says, now remembering they watched a large family of ducks walk across a green light, making the girls even more late than they already were.
They were also stopped by a long train that lasted over 5 minutes! Parker was furious.
"Well." Ella says, "We may have started on the wrong foot this morning." Parker nods, just before they follow the sidewalk and turn the corner of a red brick building.
Ella continues, "But we still have the whole day, remember?"
Ella's attention quickly focused on a bunch of flower pots on a stand in front of the giant red brick building, filled with dozens of gorgeous flowers just a few feet away from them. Oh, how she loved flowers.
Parker smiled as they kept walking, "Okay, that's true." She lets out a chuckle, "How are you always so positive-"
Suddenly, the two girls were stopped on the sidewalk, right in front of the flower shop that Ella had just noticed before. But now, there stood a man that seemed to have a scowl on his face.
His beautifully sculpted hands held onto a bouquet of bright yellow chrysanthemum flowers.
The man's eyes locked with the ones before him. The bright, soft blue eyes pierced his grumpy heart. And his eyes softened, just the tiniest bit.
Ella felt her cheeks flush pink as the man before her stared into her soul. It was like time stood still. At least for those two.
Parker eyed the two in a suspecting manner. It was kind of interesting to watch two people stare each other down...
