Alone

Great company

I woke up to scout flopping down in my face and meowing once "is it time for food buddy" I asked sarcastically I picked him up his tongue sticking out of his mouth I looked over at my phone 7:48 "thanks for waking me up buddy" I kissed his forehead.

I held scout with one arm and and got food for him and I with the other I set him and his food down on the counter and ate some of the fruit loops dry "not to bad for dry cereal" I thought I walked over to the bathroom and looked at my hair it looked like hell, I brushed it out and put my glasses on, I went out to see scout done with his food just doing cat things, I threw the empty can out and grabbed my keys and back pack, "you gonna be good while I'm gone scout?" I rubbed his head he meowed "good you better, I'll be back soon... I promise" I opened the door dragging my bike with me I locked the door and went off to my old school maybe I could find someone so scout and I wouldn't be alone they could stay in the complex.

I turned into the parking lot of my school on hid my bike under one off those big garbage bins, I went to the front door of the school wide open I held my gun firm in hand I walked down to the cafeteria and saw it empty I walked out backwards still looking into the cafeteria, I heard a groan and a snarl I spun around and saw a zombie it looked like my maths teacher he ran towards me I started running I ran into a dead end I turned around and aimed my gun at it's head, I took in a Sharp breath and fired.

I missed I hit his shoulder "fuck fuck fuck" he ran towards me I screamed I loaded the gun and fired again I fell back this time the bullet went through his face he fell to the ground with a groan a group of three boys ran around the corner I looked at them and they looked back at me "haven!?" One of them yelled, it was James he ran up to me and looked me up and down I was bruised but that was regular "you good" he asked looking in my eyes "yeah, are you guys staying here" I asked chest pounding
"Us no, we are raiding the place. I'm going to guess same as you" he chuckled sitting next to me one arm on his knee other on my shoulder "guys it's just haven! They killed that zombie" he yelled mark and will ran over "you good kid" will asked squatting down "yeah" I responded.

Mark leaned against the wall hesitantly "any bites" he asked "no" I said monotone "good" James said looking at the ceiling "do you have a base or a group" will asked "I have a base... no group" I looked at the ground "great we have a group you have a base, if we can live in your base with you then we will be your group" mark said making james blush for what ever reason, I paused "yeah I'll lead the way then, I have food and water there" I said standing up with a stumble "alrighty" mark said "you guys got bikes" I asked "yeah" James said walking next to me now "good I'm not walking my bike" I said jokingly.

We walked out of the school and I went over the bin my bike was under and got on, I waited for the trio in the lot James was the first there "thanks for letting us stay with you" he said focusing on my face "yeah no problem, you were the only person who was nice to me in the god forsaken school" I laughed his gaze moved to my eyes "really I was the only person to be nice to you"
He said in a slightly joking voice "ehh what you gonna do people are people unless they're zombies" I accidentally looked at his lips I blushed "sorry" I said "for what" he whispered in my ear, I turned to face him our faces inches apart, he turned red  "nothing," he was red I smirked.

The other two boys pulled up behind us "one of you can stay in my room the bed fits two, the other two get to share a room" I said starting to bike away. It took us fifteen minutes to get there I hopped off my bike and waited for the other to do the same 
They hopped off the were discussing the room situation "right so James is in your room haven, I'm with will" marks said elbowing James.

I started into the building "sounds good" I said grabbing key number 16 and throwing it at will "go get settled I'm in room 17"
I said walking down the hall and unlocking my door James right behind me we walked in and I shut the door not locking it
I saw scout and ran over to him picking him up "hello scout how are youuuu" I said in a baby voice, scout cuddled into my shoulder "his name is scout" James said walking up in front of me scratching scout's scalp he purred "yeah, could you hold him I'm gonna get the group food including scout" I asked holding scout out to James "yeah sure" he took scout and I walked into the kitchen-et, I looked around "baked beans sound good" I asked James turning around he was directly behind me "sounds good" he said putting scout down who ran to the bed to sleep, I hugged James "I'm so tired" I said he paused then tightly hugged me "just go to bed then I'll take scout for a walk and tell the guys not the knock on the door unless needed" he said putting his chin on my head "can you give them the beans?" I asked "definitely" "your awesome" "I know"
I let go of him and walked over to the bed and went to sleep.
