3. New friend?

It was midnight. I put on my sneakers and grabbed my bag.
I opened the phone and went into the camera system, it took me a total of 5 minutes to turn it off. Anyway, it wasn't my first time doing it, it was more of a game for me.
I wanted to leave the room and went to the garden. Of course I wasn't going to run out the front door, I went into the kitchen and out into the garden. I started running. when I reached the gate, I held fast to the railings of the gate and jumped over them.
It took me 15 minutes to get to the city center and sure enough... there was no one. After a few minutes, i saw a guy come out of a 24 hour shop, put on his helmet and get on his motorbike.

"Hey" I yelled and he turned his head.

"Yes?" he said as he stopped at my feet.

"Hmm.. I.."

"What? You want my number?" he said mockingly.

"Fuck no" I said, regretting talking to him.

"Then?"

"I wanted to go to the airport, but there are no taxis and it's 2 hours away."

"Shall I take you there?" he says.

"I'll pay"

"Just hop in," he said grabbing my arm.

I grabbed his shoulders and sat behind him.

"Jake," he said.

"What?" I say like an idiot.

"Jake Sim, that's my name," he says with a laugh.

"Choi Val" I say softly. I hope he doesn't recognize me, I mean my last name.

"So who are you running from Val?" he asks out loud.

"Life?" I say. he laughs.

He leaves quickly. I held on without clinging to him. I didn't want him to think I was a whore who stopped people for money or something.

"You are lucky that I am also going to the airport", I hear.

"And who are you running from?" I ask, seeing his hands clenched tightly.

"Life?"

"Copy cat" I say, I saw him looking at me from the mirror.
After that, the road was quiet. I can finally breathe freely. I didn't hear a word and I saw that no one could stop me. I opened my arms and closed my eyes.

"Be careful not to fall." of course it would spoil this moment "if you fall, know that I will not help you and I will leave".

"Heartless" I say and he laughs. I knew he was joking.

"I was joking, you don't know but I am a gentleman" he laughs more. I was starting to like his laugh.

"If you are gentleman, I am the devil himself, thank you"

"OH damn! I'm afraid, what did I do I took the devil with me. How careless of me" his joke made me laugh and forget everything, even the reason why I'm behind him.

"If you're going to sleep, you can lean on my back" I was surprised by his words "it's 1 o'clock, I'll wake up when we get there"

I believed him, I had a feeling he would become my best friend if we didn't part ways at the airport of course. I need people like jake in my pathetic life.
