1 week later

In a large study room filled with books and paper work piling high on the desk.

At the corner of a specific free space of the desk, a comfortable and soft bed with a dragon laying on top.

Carlex watches the dragon sleep whenever he needs a break from work.

Since given the dragon egg 2 years ago, he has made it a habit to keep it by his side.

Now he feels uncomfortable if the dragon is ever out of his sight.

That's why even when the egg has hatched, everyone within the castle is accustom to their prince carrying around a dragon in his arms.

The news of a dragon being born excited everyone and the past week has been busy full of visits.

But no matter who came or how noisy, the dragon never woke up.

This made everyone worried, but everything came out healthy so they were forced to calm down and wait.

Now the prince is the only one responsible for the dragon again.

Kyuuuu....

Suddenly outside the window became dark and the sky is cloudy.

A storm seems to be coming and thunder and lightning started flashing.

An ominous pressure fills the room.

Carlex felt something wrong and senses the mana around the air becoming very dense.

He watches as the mana in the surroundings get suck into a strong vortex towards the sleeping dragon.

Worried but also excited, Carlex watch while stepping further away to guard the dragon and also ensuring his own safety.

This phenomena lasted almost half an hour before it settled down and the sky became bright again.

Carlex approaches the dragon cautiously and checks for any problems.

The the dragon opens its bright golden eyes.

It stared deeply at Carlex who is the closest and the only one around it.

Moments of silences passes and Carlex doesn't know what to say.

He was mesmerize by the clear and shining gold eyes.

He also doesn't know what his first words to the dragon should be.

After all, he spoke to the dragon egg for years but never got a response.

And then he started talking to it while it was sleeping and never woke up.

Now that the dragon finally woke up, he felt excited and nervous to make a good impression on the dragon.

"Where am I...?"

Stunned and confused were the mood of both of them at the same time when the dragon spoke.

It lifted its head and stretch its aching body.

That's when Carlex noticed a shining halo floating above the dragon's head.

A halo that never appeared on any dragon before or while it was sleeping sprawled out.

"Human?"

"I'm Carlex. I've been with you for the last 2 years."

"2 years? That not right..."

"Where is this? This is not my palace..."

"I should be sleeping longer. Its only been a few years since I fell asleep."

"Well... you have been in an egg for 10 years and hatched a week ago..."

"Egg? You said I hatched from an egg..?"

"Yes...?"

Now they're both very confused.

Carlex felt something wasn't right.

Dragons are known for being wise and have inheritance, but a dragon shouldn't be able to speak immediately after it was born, right?

And the words the dragon mention doesn't match the situation.

What palace should it be sleeping in?

Wasn't it just recently hatched from an egg?

Can an egg be considered its palace?

Carlex intuitively denied such an assumption because it wouldn't make sense.

"Then... this is not the dragon palace...?"

"No. There's no human close to or even able to find the dragon palace..."

"But.... Where is the dragon palace?"

"You don't know?"

The dragon slump and frowned. Its memories are missing and it can't figure out what's going on.

"No. I should know but I can't remember or something has sealed away parts of my memories so that I can't recall."

"Then what do you remember?"

At this point Carlex already understood his dragon is not a baby dragon just born from an egg nor is it any longer "his" dragon...
