Lloyd POV
There's some crowd in the corridor, I wonder what it is...
«Hi guys, what are you looking at?» I ask.
«The poster for the Fall Dance!» Jay answers.
«Fall Dance? What is it?»
Everyone stares at me. If we were in an anime show, they'd have the classic what-the-heck-did-you-just-say expression, the one with raised eyebrows and half-closed eyes.
Kai explains me the whole School Dance thing, with the decorations, the buffet, boys inviting girls and everything.
Wait, inviting girls?
«I'm gonna go with Skylor» Kai says, dreamingly.
«And I'll go with Nya!» replies Jay.
«I'll be Pixal's knight» Zane announces, proudly.
«Come on, I'm going with Vania! We're talking about the Queen of Shintaro, it's evident that I'm the best»
And they start arguing about who is the best boyfriend.
Meanwhile, I see that Akita is some locker away, chattering with her friends.
I inevitably stare at her, with my mouth open and my cheeks flushed.
«And Lloyd seems to have put his eyes on Akita, didn't you, Lloyd?» Kai laughs, patting (actually more punching) my back.
I turn deep red and stutter something, trying to deny.
«Lloyd, we all know you have a crush on her, there's no need to deny» Brad points out.
I rub the back of my neck, embarrassed. I don't know what to say.
«You have to man up, bro» Cole continues «Just ask her to go to the dance with you»
«How?» I groan «I can barely say hello without blushing and stuttering like an idiot, do you think I can practically ask her out?!»
Everyone nodded. Now, that's a plot twist.
«We can help you!» Zane suggests «That's what friends are for!»
«So, uh... Would you be my lady at the Dance?»
Kataru thinks a bit, then he says
«Nope, you're still not there. You have to look decisive, you're WAY too nervous.»
I think about what I could do.
«Hey, Akita» I finger gun and wink «You know, there's this kinda party, and maybe you could go with me, would you like that?»
«Dude» Kai shook his head «Leave this stuff to Bruce, you're not able to say this without looking stupid.»
«I always get lost in the night sky of your deep eyes» I proclaim, down on my knee, with a hand on my chest and the other holding an imaginary rose «You're my starlight, your beauty blooms even shinier every day! Let me be your knight, so that we can spend the rest of our life with each other! Would you like that?»
